Duties and responsibilities:
• Coordinate plant activities with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Initiative plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
• Guarantee attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed customers’ expectations.
• Set and monitor factory KPIs like productivity, efficiency, OEE, yield, scrap and waste percentage, Labor cost, Energy cost, Maintenance cost, capacity utilization, throughput…
• Develop strategies, long and short-term goals and objectives.
• Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
• Manage capital asset maintenance.
• Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment, replacing them or making adjustment when necessary.
• Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
• Ensure implementation and enforcement of company policies and SOPs.
• Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, quality and safety standards.
• Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.
• Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.
• Ensure organizational development and effectiveness through structure, staffing, resource allocation, training, accountability, and development.
• Motivate employees and promote a team-work environment.
• Support staff to develop new products and processes, as well as improving the quality of the existing ones.
• Prepare Capex and budget then manage spending against it, provide assessment and estimate of material, and manpower requirements for the production forecast.
• Maintain individual skills and keeping up to date with the latest technology and management concepts.
• Assure continuity of materials supply while secure getting best prices vs highest quality standards.
Achievements over year and a half:
• Decreased the packaging cost by 38.4%.
• Decreased the fruits (raw materials) cost by 19%.
• Finalized the ISO 22000 certificate during the start-up year.
• Redesigned successful recipes for 80 % of the products.
• Decreased waste percentage by 24.7%.
• Achieved excellent OEE results: above 85%.

• Decreased the energy cost by 2.1% as annual average.
• Enforced health and safety rules and procedures.
