Design, develop and implement traffic engineering solutions, analyze traffic data and develop traffic models, prepare reports, plans and technical documents, liaise with clients and relevant stakeholders, conduct site surveys and develop site designs, provide advice on traffic control measures, Monitor the effectiveness of traffic engineering solutions
•Counting traffic on highways and road intersections to determine an approximate number of vehicles going in a particular direction
•Determining suitable signs and markings on roadways for both new and existing roads,
•Investigating road accidents and recommending changes to roadways and intersections if they find them unsafe for all road users
•Collaborating with road builders to assess the impact that a new project might have on the existing roads and mitigating those effects
•Reviewing of traffic management works design proposals, risk assessments and method statements. Advising to the design and build team on planning and execution of schemes which require traffic safety & control
•Reviewing Contractors Traffic Management /HSE Management plans as advised by the Managers and guiding them according to the standards for the approvals.
•Preparing and reviewing traffic management and traffic diversions plans including design and submitting to QPRO to get the TDPs approved, implemented, and maintained. - Performs road safety audits and follows up on corrective actions and closures. Participating in Investigations of Road Accidents and incidents. Attending client and consultant meeting, Coordinating and communicating with Ashghal and MOI headquarters for traffic related matters,
•Communicating with local area police stations and captains for the patrolling police assistance whenever necessary on the road closures and adverse weather conditions.
•Training STMS and teams working on roads proper safety procedures for their jobs, such as setting up cones or barriers for road construction projects
•Ensuring that all employees follow safety guidelines when working near roadways or other high-risk areas
•Coordinating with colleagues to ensure that all traffic, including pedestrians, cyclists and vulnerable road users are considered in any scheme. Implementing creative solutions to traffic, transport, and kerbside projects
•Carrying out road safety audits for the temporary traffic diversions, and inspection weekly and monthly as per the requirements.
•Attending and managing all traffic management coordination meetings with designers, clients and other stakeholders’
•Leads the weekly HSE meetings with the contractor and participates in site safety training.
•Maintains and applies knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
• Reviews “Permit to Work” procedures and log for HSE and Traffic Management Activities
•Monitoring the teams and assisting them wherever they required assistance to fulfil their responsibilities.
