Saud Aramco Video Conferencing Project
This project is a Turn Key Project for Saudi Aramco to replace the existing obsolete Video Conferencing Equipments which are located in several areas of Saudi Aramco plants and building offices all over the Kingdom. Alcatel-Lucent has the responsibility to ensure performance of site survey, design, material procurement, integration, factory testing, shipment and delivery of materials, customs clearance and to inspect, transport to sites, install, commission, test, and handover a fully operational Video Conferencing System to Saudi Aramco
Duties and responsibilities:
o Assess and enforce compliance to contract requirements.
o Cost Planning and Budgeting.
o Project team Management.
o Responsible for planning, organizing and managing project all project activities
o Controlling & monitoring expenditures.
o Ensuring quality and safety standards and procedures are followed.
Achievements:
During my assignment on this rule, I used my knowledge and experience in Engineering and Project Management to accomplish the following achievements:
• The project was out of track before I join, then I manage to put it on track in less than two months.
• Completed project ahead of schedule
• Completed project with less than the budgeted fund.

Saudi Aramco Company, Computer & Communication Engineering Department, Project Support Services Division in Dhahran.
Worked in the following projects:
Video Conferencing Projects: A team member of Video Conferencing project team that was responsible for testing, setting directions and implementing the first new network based
Video Conferencing system in Saudi Aramco. Participated in installing & commissioning of First Video Conferencing System at various Saudi Aramco locations in east, central and west of Saudi Arabia. Also, assisted Information Technology Planning Division (ITPD) in satisfying user requirement and setting future plans.
Switching Projects: Sienior project engineer in many switching projects such as replacing the SL-1 XT Nortel Telephone Switches with Meridian Option 61C and 81C Telephone Switches in different areas Kingdom wide. These projects include design, establishing purchase orders for materials, contracts for construction and implementation, and commissioning to the customer.
Transmission Projects: Sienior project engineer in many transmission projects such as replacing STM-1 to STM-4 Alcatel Transmission systems, Logging recorders, Digital Cross Connect System (DSX) replacement, and Digital Access Cross Connect System (DACS) Expansion kingdom wide. Furthermore, the Project engineer in replacement of all old “Scientific Radios” Medium frequencies (MF) Transmitter by the new “Nautel” Transmitters. Participated in removing the old transmitters, installing, testing and commissioning of the new transmitters.
Achievements:
During my work on this department I gain a lot of experience in different type of IT technologies such as SDH, DACS, ATM, Switching and IP. Also, I handled the project from the planning stage till the completion and cutover including purchasing materials and preparing the contract for installation. Also, I helped the installer companies in the configuration of these equipments.
Duties and responsibilities:
Maintained the VHF/UHF system, and was responsible with my team for the testing, troubleshooting for the line from Dammam to Riyadh through Hofuf and 11 remote sites.
Managed NEC telephone system Exchange Replacement Project.
Followed up the installation activities of the VHF/UHF temporary communication system in the direct line between Dammam and Riyadh.
Co-op training program in Saudi Aramco, Computer & Communication Department, Central Area Radio Unit
Major duties:
- Installing of HF, VHF and UHF radios.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance on HF, VHF
and UHF base stations and paging base stations.
- Installing and testing of satellite units on deep
desert oil rigs.
