• Ensuring site standards are met as set out in the environment, safety and health policies.
• Carry out specific safety training and participate in new employee and contractor inductions.
• Liaising with National Environment Management Authority (NEMA and Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOHSS) on environment, health and safety issues.
Co-iodinating annual Environmental Audits and Environmental Impact Assessments in liaison with approved lead experts.
• Creating awareness among employees to participate actively in safety, health and environmental management.
Writing of reports on environment, occupational health and safety situations in all the companies on monthly basis.
• Providing advice to all levels on best practice and legal requirements as per safety, health and environmental standards.
• Participation in risk assessment and control and maintenance of safety, health and environmental standards.
• Establishing and maintaining systems for, and participation in, safety, health and environmental inspection and audit.
• Establishing and maintaining procedures of work and investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses.
• Initiating the redrafting of safety rules, systems and procedures for protection of workers against injury and safeguarding property.
• Carrying out of analysis of trends in safety statistics and recommending action for improvement.
• Participation in site safety communication and review activities. Member of site safety committee.
• Selection, maintenance and training on use of PPE's.
• Organizing for annual safety and health audits in liaison with approved safety and health advisers and arranging specialist surveys including dust, noise etc
