Working out of the HQ in Canary Wharf my role as team lead for the Business Engagement group saw me manage 11 other Engagement managers on a large virtualisation or cloud project. Barclays are implementing the largest such project ever attempted and the scope of work is over 250k deployments around the world.
Aspects of my role included:
• Key stakeholder management
• Planning, reporting and documenting every stage of lifecycle
• Managing a team of other engagement managers and allocating various work streams
• Relationship managing the business vs IT to ensure birth quality and quantity was high throughout the programme
• Prioritising and scheduling different regions / business units dependant on their readiness / technology requirements

GMO Project manager & Technology Coach July 2008-October 2010
Based in the Canary Wharf office and working in the GMO (Group Management Office) my role was to work within the IT department to project manage, roll out and then train executives on several new technologies being offered to them. As the various technologies were being rolled out, I was responsible for creating a wide range of training courses and resources including, : Course Documentation, Podcasts and other material to build into an extensive portfolio for execs to learn from.
Key technology training initiatives I was directly involved in included:
• Tandberg Video Conferencing: Delivering Technology Coaching, creation of Facilitator Scripts, Session Presentations, Session Outlines, end user resources such as QRGs and Podcasts
• GMO Environment: Delivering Technology coaching to many that had previously used desktop PC's. Course content included: Hotdesking, VPN, Cisco IP Phones, meeting room technology
• Cisco Telepresence Suites: Delivering Technology Coaching
• Office 2007: Working with the Exec PA team delivering Technology Coaching to aid their migration from Office 2003
• HIPS: Engaged with all areas of the business to schedule in this business critical update for each department
• Unified Communications: Delivering Technology Coaching, creation of Facilitator Scripts, Session Presentations, Session Outlines, end user resources such as QRGs and Podcasts
• Webex: Promoting the software throughout the business with measurable results due cost/carbon savings, delivering Technology Coaching, creation of Facilitator Scripts, Session Presentations, Session Outlines, end user resources such as QRGs and Podcasts
• Gained technical experience in both telecoms and VC (Cisco call manager, Tandberg Management System) as well as build imaging for the initial rollout of the GMO floor

Project Manager - Office re stack Project Jan 2008-July 2008
Based in the Vauxhall office managing an office move project combined with the rollout of new laptops for every user. As Project Manager my role was to liaise with the different areas of the business involved with the project as well as ensuring staff were relocated, trained and issued with their laptops in a timely manner. My role also involved training each user that receives new hardware on how to use the new equipment. This involved classroom style training and producing intranet based resources.
Aspects of the role included:
• Project Managing a business critical project and delivering on-schedule
• Training all relocated users on use of their new hardware
• Managing expectations of the business as elements changed during the project
• Dealing with any technical escalations brought about by the rollout of the new hardware

Project manager / Team Leader - Re-stack Project
Working out of the Canary Wharf headquarters as team leader of a re-location project which covered several offices in London and across several floors in the Canary wharf location. Around 3000 staff were relocated and issued with new hardware. My role was to support the moves and ensure that the hardware / software environment was installed and configured before the move date. Due to the large scale of the project, several other contractors were hired and reported to myself alongside some members of the desktop support team. The project was completed on schedule with minimal disruption to the business.
Aspects of the role included:
• Managing the installation of new hardware/software environments across several locations and the support of such environments after HSBC staff have occupied the area
• Building a secure IFS dealing room within one of the floors
• Attending business facing planning meetings to discuss and plan any specific requirements from that business sector prior to their relocation
• Getting involved in all technical issues that arise from crossing over to new desktop and server hardware
• Managing the full work breakdown structure including: resource distribution, task assignment and prioritisation throughout the project enabling a prompt and efficient service to be delivered to the business
UK Government (contract)
Project manager - Migration project Oct 2005-Oct 2006
Working out of the Vauxhall office as Team Lead of a software and hardware deployment and relocation of several government offices in London. This covered around 2000 users and involved a complete hardware and software refresh as well as migration of data to new server technology. I was the IT representative for the project, with line management and responsibility for a small team of analysts
Aspects of the role included:
• Migrating all email account from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003
• A complete refresh of all hardware both desktop and laptop
• Upgrading from a Windows 9x to a Windows XP operating environment.
• Migrating each users data to new servers creating permissioning and groups
• Extensive planning and negotiation with the business to ensure little downtime for each user
• Using resources both in-house and external contractors while keeping in line with budgetary requirements
GFI Brokers (contract) Nov 2004-Oct 2005
Technical Project Manager
Working out of the UK HQ offices in London City as technical support / project manager for an online trading application called creditmatch. This new application allows brokers to trade commodities in real-time over a secure internet connection, leased line or via citrix. The information is streamed live into the appropriate markets.
Aspects of the role included: • Encouraging new clients to the trading platform and working with them to implement Creditmatch using the most suitable technologies
• Supporting all the major financial institutions throughout London and Europe (including UBS, CSFB, HSBC, Socgen, Deutchebank, Citigroup, BarCap)
• Tailoring individual rollout solutions for new banks
• Project managing a trade floor refresh which included complete new furniture, dealerboards and PC's
