In this position, I provide in home care to medically fragile children. My primary patient is ventilator dependent. Daily skills used are ventilator management, care of the tracheostomy, nutrition and medication management, and therapy and appointment coordination.

The position required me to administratively supervise the medical, mental health and dental department for a total of 42 employees that included nurses, mid-level providers, physicians and mental health providers. I also was responsible for the management of a budget that exceeded five million dollars annually. This facility has a bed capacity of 1736 inmates.

During my time at this position, I was frequently the charge nurse. Daily duties included medication passes to approximately 600 patients, working the physician clinic, and responding to emergencies. I also addressed any patient grievances that were submitted.

I worked at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital in St. Thomas USVI. I cared for medical and surgical patients.

I worked on the CCU/IMCU floor. I cared for a variety of patients ranging from detox to ICU step down, to post-surgical. I was also a member of a newly developed LVN preceptor program.
