• Consolidation and reporting of Group financials as per IFRS for periodic review and audit.
• Budgeting and financial planning for SPPC Group (16 BUs).
• Periodic reforecasting, variance analysis, benchmarking and process analysis.
• Produce monthly financial review deck to the top management including BoD and ExCom providing BU and group level insight and guidance for strategy development and maximum sales efficiency.
• Supporting CFO in bank communications and requirements from lenders.
• Price volume analysis for the BUs and the Group - segment, customer and region wise.
• Lead the valuation process of goodwill, DBO and investment properties and per standards.
• Analyse financial trends and provide ad-hoc reports as needed by the stake holders.
• Take part in the process of due diligence for IPO/Private Placement and drafting of the documents.
• Review of BU financials to ensure accruals and provisions are in line with approved policies.
• Monitor AR, AP and Inventory Policies are adhered to; including the provision calculation workings.
• Monthly variance analysis and performance review of YTD and MTD numbers in comparison to YoY and budget figures - at BU, cluster and Group level.
• Balance sheet review on the unit financials and supervision of corrections, if any.
• Oversee corporate HQ expense allocations and ensure compliance to Group policies.
• Periodic assessment of Capex requirements for the Group and make sure that it is in accordance with the approved Capex Budget.
• Review and validate the acquisition, transfer, disposal and impairment of fixed assets.
• Monthly preparation of group level cash flow forecasts and coordinate with Group Treasury for potential financial arrangements.
• Provide various financial and operational ratios for efficient working capital management.
• Manage and oversee the intercompany & related party accounts and reconciliation.
• Regular communication with BU finance heads relating to financial closing, issues and deliverables.
• Reporting to the Finance Director, while supporting the senior leadership team of Industries & Trading Division (comprising of 15 manufacturing and trading companies) of the group in collation, analysis and reporting of management accounting information.
• Provide month end financial reports to BU Management and Group Finance.
• Review monthly trial balances and ensure the accuracy of figures.
• Review the accuracy of schedules and reports prepared by juniors before sending it to Group Finance.
• Manage all department staff in performing their delegated tasks.
• Closely working with MD to provide prompt financial advices for decision making.
• Design and Co-ordinate with IT for required ERP reports.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure that audits and reviews are carried out effectively and all audit / review comments are discussed and appropriately closed.
• Analyse monthly management reports, identify and follow up on significant variances with company managements and recommend appropriate measures to senior divisional management.
• Contribute to and coordinated the quarterly forecasting process to validate that companies within the division achieve their annual budget.
• Coordinate and train a team of more than twenty five accountants in financial planning and reporting activities to achieve group planning and reporting requirements.
• Preparing monthly MIS pack for the senior management with detailed analysis and presentation of the performance of the Group.
Accountabilities:
• Being the single member of finance department, handled full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role viz. AR, AP, GL, forecasting, budgeting and costing.
Accomplishments:
• Played key role in Cost to Complete (CTC) calculations of multiple multi-million construction installation projects.
• Designed effective monthly reporting templates for three BU’s of the group.
• Successfully coordinated the monthly reporting process and presentation of reports.
• Coordinated the successful and timely completion of annual financial audit.
Accountabilities:
• Book-keeping and closing of accounting books on a monthly and annual basis with accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
• Accounting of day to day transactions - Bank receipts /Bank payments/Bill registration and booking of expenses, update AP, AR and bank GLs & their reconciliation.
• Prepare payment request for payments such as utilities & monthly dues to Supplier/Vendors & etc.
• Tracking performance against budgets, conducting in-depth analysis on the performance and highlighting it to the Finance Head.
• Provide analytical support to the business development team in the form of customer movement analysis, cargo collection report, manifest analysis, job costing techniques, etc.
Accomplishments:
• Developed competitive pricing strategies for express courier business across countries in the Middle East - Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait.
• Successfully coordinated with ERP service providers for timely customization and updating of SQL based enterprise solutions (FACTS Computer Solution).
