Staff Nurse : ER/OPD Department
1. Renders quality nursing care to patients according to their individual needs.
2. Administers medications and carries out treatments and procedures to patients.
3. Supervises the care given by the midwives.
4. Instructs and teaches patients, their relatives and significant others on health matters.
5. Assists the ROD/ Physicians in minor surgical; procedures.
6. Provides supplies (OS, Cotton balls, sutures) for ER use.
7. Checks the E-cart as to completeness and makes monthly inventory.
8. Makes daily report of ER-OPD charges and forwards it to the Nursing Service Office.
9. Checks the cleanliness and orderliness of the unit.
10. Checks that all equipment, supplies, and other items in the unit are in good order and are ready for use at all times.
11. Participates in all the activities of the Nursing Service Department.
1. Takes the vital signs of the patients including the weight and other important information needed.
2. Administers medications as ordered by the physician
3. Nebulize patients as ordered.
4. Assists in suctioning the patients.
5. Provides supplies (tongue depressors, cotton balls, syringes) for physician’s use.
6. Injects vaccines as ordered by the physician.
7. Checks the cleanliness and orderliness of the clinic.
8. Checks the equipment, supplies and other items in the clinic, making sure that these are in good condition and ready to use at all times.
9. Participates in the activities as per physician’s request such as medical mission or free clinic.
ER Staff Nurse

Staff Nurse : OB-Gyne/ Surgery Department
Charge Nurse
1. Receive endorsements from the outgoing Charge nurse
2. Endorses to the next shift all orders to be performed, updates on pt’s condition, labs that had been performed and other referrals to be done
3. Informs AP of pt’s problems/complaints and personal observation while on tour of duty
4. Forwards pt’s chart to Billing Section for partial or final billing.
5. Informs the medication nurse of the return medicines (if any) for the may go home (MGH) patients.
6. Informs Vital signs monitoring nurse and Medication nurse for any changes of the previous orders.
7. Copies dr’s order in the Kardex sheet for endorsement
8. Notifies receiving drs of the referrals of a patient by AP
9. Informs physician chosen by walk-in patient of an admission for him/her to attend
10. Follows up AP of admission of a referred pt.
11. Provides detailed instruction for take home meds
12. Updates all records before endorsement to the next shift takes place

13. Conducts bedside nursing care instead of staying idle at the nurse’s stn.
