Principal Duties & Responsibilities of Site Safety Supervisor

• Establish and communicate safety rules and standards to all employees and sub contractors.

• Provide appropriate resources, tools and training for employees.

• Award contracts using safety, health and environmental criteria.

• Prepares and report findings with recommendation for corrective action.

• Investigate accident to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety programs.

• Coordinate for Safety, Health, and Security and Environment issues with client counterpart in the field that concern or affect day-to-day operation.

• Be fully familiar with the project -specific established emergency procedures and ensure that the same is fully conveyed to site employees in his respective area of coverage.

• Maintain facility emergency plans and conduct regular emergency drills.

Advise site management and correct immediately, on the following:

• Predictable job hazards on site in which affected work force must be cautioned before their work starts.

• Carry out site surveys / patrols to see that only safe work methods are in operation, that health and safety requirements are being observed, and welfare facilities are adequate and properly maintained.

• Keep up-to-date with recommended codes of practice and safety literature. Circulate information applicable to each level of employees..

• Foster within the Company an understanding that the injury prevention and damage controls are an integral part of the business and operational efficiency.

• Stop the job whenever unsafe acts or conditions are noted. Monitor and ensure compliance of field work force with the work permit system.
