Principal Duties & Responsibilities of Site Safety Supervisor
• Establish and communicate safety rules and standards to all employees and sub contractors.
• Provide appropriate resources, tools and training for employees.
• Award contracts using safety, health and environmental criteria.
• Prepares and report findings with recommendation for corrective action.
• Investigate accident to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and developing safety programs.
• Coordinate for Safety, Health, and Security and Environment issues with client counterpart in the field that concern or affect day-to-day operation.
• Be fully familiar with the project -specific established emergency procedures and ensure that the same is fully conveyed to site employees in his respective area of coverage.
• Maintain facility emergency plans and conduct regular emergency drills.
Advise site management and correct immediately, on the following:
• Predictable job hazards on site in which affected work force must be cautioned before their work starts.
• Carry out site surveys / patrols to see that only safe work methods are in operation, that health and safety requirements are being observed, and welfare facilities are adequate and properly maintained.
• Keep up-to-date with recommended codes of practice and safety literature. Circulate information applicable to each level of employees..
• Foster within the Company an understanding that the injury prevention and damage controls are an integral part of the business and operational efficiency.
• Stop the job whenever unsafe acts or conditions are noted. Monitor and ensure compliance of field work force with the work permit system.
• Conduct daily toolbox talk to the workers to educate them about the safety and its importance and develop a safe working culture.
• Carry out daily site surveys to ensure the safe work method are in operation, adequate fire and fall protection are in place.
• Conduct daily site safety meetings or incident report to the relevant authority
• Conduct safety training for workers
• Responsibly for preparing and receiving work permit from main contractors HSE team
• Co-operate with sub-contractors on the work progress
• Participate project developed safety incentives awareness programme
• Attend safety meetings with the client and other contractor and participate safety drills and inspection
• Monthly inspection of fire extinguishers, monthly color coding of all electrical tools and equipment’s and also lifting devices
• Responsible for controlling & issuance of PPEs
• Responsible for Visitors’ safety briefing
• Responsible for new employee orientation
• Responsible for keeping the Training records of the employees
Conduct a daily toolbox with the workers to remind all safety rules and regulation within the site. · Monthly inspection of all safety precaution and monthly coding of all electrical tools and equipment and also lifting gear. · Carries out daily site surveys to ensure the safe work method are in operation, adequate fire and fall protection are in place. · Inspect tools are being used and sufficient personal protective equipment provided and properly worn. · Closely monitors the scaffold erection or dismantling work, crane work, confined space entries with the permit and gas test, and similar hazardous activities and ensures that all relevant requirements are complied with. · Responsible for the safety procedures to be implemented within the site and ensure that all would follow them. · Responsible for identifying the hazards and give corrective action
