Performed an understanding and risk assessment of an oil and gas company
in the following areas:
− Inherent risks in the oil and gas industry particularly on exploration
activities; and,
− Risks associated with the country location and exploration and
evaluation projects.
• Handled a special assignment relating to review of transactions on various
projects in Africa and identification of transactions involving bribery, graft
and corruption perpetrated by the management of a company.
• Conducted an audit investigation on the alleged abuse of authority by the
Head of Finance of a real estate company by using the company’s funds to
purchase air tickets for friends and family, reimbursement of personal
expenditures and unauthorized fund transfers to his bank accounts in UAE
and overseas.
• Identified electricity energy loss which represents 12% of the actual
consumption of an international hotel brand from April 2016 till September
2017. The energy loss resulted in additional electricity cost of AED
710, 870.
• Identified fees paid by a company to its Operator and other parties in excess
of the agreed amounts in the relevant agreements and contracts.
