Responsibilities: -
Maintaining & Monitoring of Airline Control System (ALCS), which controls the Reservation(MARS) & Check-in Systems(MACS) for Emirates Airlines and other hosted customers across the worldwide network on Z10 Mainframe. Online troubleshooting, liaising with vendors in troubleshooting the communication network.
Monitoring of Application/Servers/Routers worldwide on HP Open View systems and trouble shooting based on the alert.
Manage the 24/7 shifts across various technologies by ensuring that agreed Service Levels with business/technology teams are met and the operational activities are carried out with minimal business interruption. Efficient management of jobs/disaster recovery/switchover’s within the production environment as well as the end-to-end monitoring for all the managed infrastructure and services.
Monitor and control the team staff by ensuring that all departmental policies governing operational procedures are properly met to achieve a consistently high level of service to the customers.
Accountabilities: -
Manage and utilize the available resources in an efficient and effective manner and ensure smooth handover of jobs/task/issues between shifts by providing shift reports.
Co-ordinate with developers and technical teams to improve or automate processes and reduce the number of recurring incidents to increase system availability.
Manage the operational activities across various technologies within the Emirates Group within agreed SLAs and ensure that relevant technical, application and project teams are informed on violations of SLAs.
Implement process & procedures for new systems in line with the departmental policies. Carry out Knowledge transfer within team & ensure that it is done by all direct reports encouraging the culture of continuous learning & knowledge sharing.
Continuously identify process improvements, update all operational procedures and documents to efficiently manage the processes.
Managing the shift and operators, perorming disaster recovery, distributing the work among the operators, checking logs for successful completion of all daily jobs, liaising with Support Personnel for critical problems, escalating to higher authorities depending upon the criticality of the problem.
Operating in house Project Material Management System to Computerize Engg. Drawings & Specification data to generate various reports such as Material Take off & Bill of Materials, Material Requisitions, Vendor Data Requirements, Inspection & Testing Requirements, Utilization of Surplus Stock Materials, Technical Evaluation of Vendor Offers etc
