• Reliability and rotating equipment management in accordance with the company’s procedures and standards ensuring efforts aligned with business goals and providing clear guidelines and actions to supervised staff. Also responsible for continuous improvement within the reliability and rotating equipment team.
• Perform as the rotating equipment technical authority, approving decisions that involve changes related to equipment’s maintenance and control.
• Mentoring rotating equipment engineers.
• Lead the organization to achieve higher levels of reliability and reduce unscheduled deferment focusing on reliability threats and bad actors. Lead high impact failure analyses and drive action items to completion.
• Lead the organization to reduce costs using predictive maintenance techniques.
• Identify and plan the execution of rotating equipment projects required for the short and long term.
• Provide reliability and maintenance input to projects and modifications.
• Responsible for the approved budget to execute projects that require third parties.
• Technical evaluation and vibration analysis of rotating machinery in order to maximize the performance, reliability and availability at the right cost.
• Conduct Root Cause analysis to identify event causes and develop corrective actions.
• Responsible for the correct installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning within API standards.
• Troubleshooting to complex machinery problems, developing alternatives and working with others to propose and implement solutions.
• Provide technical assessments during overhauls, installation, pre-commissioning and start-up on rotating equipment such as compressors, steam turbines, pumps and auxiliary systems.
• Workshop technical support, this include consultancy about rotating equipment repairing, pumps, mechanical seals, turbines, motors, fans, blowers and compressors.
• Technical support in repairing and major maintenance of centrifugal compressors.
• Provide real-time vibration analysis and technical expertise on rotating equipment problems and develop maintenance reliability programs to avoid or solve rotating equipment failures.
• Responsible for technical support in the planning and execution of major overhauls on rotating equipment.
• Conduct failure analysis and provide recommendations for failed rotating equipment.
• Daily review of rotating equipment (condition monitoring); evaluating unusual conditions using System1® or other tools to determine the current operation of the machine.
• Research, recommend and implement new technologies and improvements for rotating equipment.
• Work in multi-disciplinary teams, providing technical support to ensure uninterrupted, efficient and quality-driven production or plant operations, and reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns.
• Directly involved in creating new databases in Offline and Online Condition Monitoring Software.
• Responsible for day-to-day Condition Monitoring activities throughout the plant in accordance with predictive maintenance program and daily requirements.
• Execution of dynamic balancing on rotating equipment. (in situ)
• Supervise the preventive and corrective maintenance of rotating equipment (steam turbines, centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, electric motors, fans, etc) in field, through assignment of activities and formation of work groups, with the purpose of contributing with the execution of the established program.
• Coordinate and implement the maintenance of all rotating equipment and reliability strategies.
• Execution of alignment on rotating equipment such as boiler feed pumps. (API 610 - BB3)
• Participation on Root Cause Failure Analysis process avoiding repeat defects and repeat failures
• Follow up on purchase of spare parts.
• Participation in technical meetings to plan maintenance activities.
• Responsible for the administration of contracts budget.
