Managed and supervised the maintenance activities of workshop and repair of a wide range of heavy earth moving mobile and fixed equipment/ vehicles and the fabrication of special tools and spare parts that are urgently required or not available in order to support maintenance activities for fleet of equipment/vehicle and plant for processing of scrap and slag in the Rourkela steel Plant.

Directed the activities assigned to workshop supervisors and technician. Performed managerial functions at the level established by Management for the position.

To ensure wok is prioritised and executed as planned maintaining quality of repair. Refurbishment of equipment and parts for machinery/tools to achieve acceptable standards for workmanship.

Directed and supervised the maintenance, repair and routine modification of various items of Plant and workshop equipment. Including lubrication, general preventive maintenance and specific repair of faulty equipment. Evaluated equipment used in the workshop, suggested alternative or additional machinery or tools and provide cost estimates as a part of recommendations.

Responsible solely for Materials control & Budget Follows up on the receipt, storage and consumption of various consumable supplies, plant and equipment for the workshop. Inspects items to be purchased prior to acceptance of tender and carries out technical evaluation of materials ordered and received.

Responsible for the maintenance and stores function in the company’s business, keeping in mind the overall objectives and project plans to minimize down time and ensure optimum utilisation by improving machinery in terms of capacities, quality & reliability.

Ensuring proper comprehensive records are maintained for all equipment / machinery life cycles for safe & efficient maintenance repair or replacement of equipment & systems.

Responsible for best warehouse practices to ensure optimum inventory levels, ensure material availability to avoid down-time.
