As a High School English Teacher at School of Modern Skills, I prepare lesson plans to effectively deliver the American Curriculum (CCSS). I also facilitate students’ learning both in classroom and online through Distance Learning. In addition, I monitor students’ progress and attainments through various forms of assessments and lastly, I communicate, cooperate, and consult with school staff, and parents/guardians in the students’ best interest.
At Al Maaref Private School, I planned and prepared outstanding lessons in order to deliver the American Curriculum effectivel. I also identified clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes with appropriate challenge and high expectations for all types of learners including SofD and I checked and monitored students’ learning through various forms of assessments (formative and summative). In addition, I provided support, guidance and mentoring to a group of teachers as a learning coach with focus on lesson planning, differentiated instruction and classroom management.
As a Primary English Teacher at GEMS Westminster School, I created and managed a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment which is conducive to children’s learning. I also planned and prepared lessons in order to deliver the National Curriculum effectively and identified clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes with appropriate challenge and high expectations. In addition, I organized and managed groups or individual pupils ensuring differentiation based on their learning styles and internal and external data (data triangulation). Lastly, I checked students' learning through differentiated activities, classwork and other forms of assessment (AFL).
After one year of teaching at WSS, I got promoted as the Head of the Primary English Department where I successfully carried out the following tasks: Ensured effective curriculum planning and development from Year 1-5, checked weekly lesson plans, termly test questions, marks and other requirements related to the subject, supervised and evaluated teachers through class observations and performance management to ensure quality of teaching and learning, provided support, training and mentoring to a group of teachers, improved primary students' reading skills as shown in the results of their internal and external assessments and implemented various programs to further develop students' English proficiency which includes guided reading, in-house competitions, etc.
As a Secondary English Teacher at St. Mary's Academy, I implemented the instructional program for Grade 9 and 10. I also facilitated the teaching-learning process through effective use of instructional materials and conscientious use of innovative strategies. In addition, I implemented the established classroom policies and procedures consistently to achieve effective classroom management.
After two years of teaching at SMA, I got promoted as the Head of the English Department. Part of my responsibilities included the following: Assisted the Principal and the Academic Coordinator in the supervision of the department's instructional program in his/her respective field, planned with the Academic Coordinator a relevant development program for the teachers to ensure their academic, professional and personal growth, defined subject area's input towards the realization of the goals and objectives of the institution and of the department, agreed on a plan of activities such as construction of test questions, and classroom observations on innovative teaching and other activities specific to the area, supervised and evaluated the teachers through class observations and checked weekly lesson plans, quarterly test questions, grades and other requirements pertinent to the area.
