Al Corniche Hospital is the UAE's largest maternity hospital and a leading referral center for obstetric and
neonatal care. Located in downtown Abu Dhabi City, the 183-bed hospital has specialty clinics dealing with
lactation, fetal medicine, obstetric medicine, and allied disciplines. It has facilities for more than 8, 000 births
and 120, 000 outpatient visits every year, and its 64-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is the largest and
finest in the country. Corniche Hospital is a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited institution. As Senior
Infection Preventionist in Al Corniche Hospital my main responsibilities as mentioned below;
* Providing leadership to the infection prevention & control program to ensure a high profile for infection
prevention & control across the facility.
* Providing consultation and expert advice in infection control practice to all Health Care workers.
* Collaborating with all departments on departmental policies related to infection control.
* Participating in committees, task forces that are interdisciplinary or interdepartmental; may be required
to chair, co-chair or lead such groups.
* Surveillance and epidemiologic investigation
* Prepare policies and procedures which promote consistent adherence to evidence-based infection
control
* practices which minimize transmission of pandemic infection diseases
* Liaising effectively with other health care providers both internal and external to the organization
* Leading performance improvement (PI) teams for organization/system regarding Infection Prevention
and
* Control.
* Developing and conducting orientation, annual mandatory training and in-service infection prevention
and
* control education programs for employees
* Submission of monthly Key performance Indicators
