Oversees the department and ER staff in daily routines, decision making and proactive implementation of tasks and goals of the department.
➢ Maintains and monitor staff assignment, manage shift responsibilities and resolve or report issues happened during the shift as well as oversee the conflicts that happened all throughout.
➢ Prepare and distribute CODE BLUE roster for the organization. Collects Code Blue response reports and any incidences of E-cart usage.
➢ Coordinate needed services from the Biomedical and Maintenance department.
➢ Provides staff teaching and coaching sessions; organizes monthly meetings and attends
➢ Nursing department meeting weekly; coordinates meeting agenda and memo to the
department as appropriate.
➢ Serves as a focal person to HR regarding staff biometrics, leave requests, attendance and,
coordinates HR services to ER staff.
➢ Maintain staff database and department statistics/census for analysis and presentation to top
management.
➢ Coordinates department activities to QI for staff education and improvement. Liaise and
report issues/OVR for conflict resolution or enhancement programs for the unit. Reports
activities and department issues to Supervisor and Nursing Director.
➢ Identifies patient care issues and/or ways to improve and positively impact on the quality of care and patient outcomes
➢ Supports the Supervisor in evaluating the employee for performance appraisal
➢ Ensures safe and high quality patient care during shift through appropriate and fair designation of
work to the team based on capabilities and scope of license
➢ Providing shift supervision and guidance to staff along with the Nurse Supervisors ensuring that
all care is provided accordingly with Hospital Standards policies and procedures
