Manage a team of designers/engineers available locally and remotely to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely engineering solutions to customers. Formulate plan, allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets of the local business unit. Ensure team's compliance with standard processes, procedures, practices and safety requirements. Ensure quality designs are delivered with the least intervention from client to have design first time according to client requirements. To ensure design is also fit for purpose to what client requires. Improving the design turnaround time is very important.
When client requires client specific design to ensure that equipment meets the local regulations, engineering guidelines and satisfy client requirements. I have been involved in various projects in different segments such as Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Airports, Food & Beverages and Datacenters.

Oversees progress within own area of responsibility, identifies and manages technical issues and quality requirements.
•Customer and Sales
Provides engineering support during the bid phase to deliver the technical solutions as required (e.g. the requirements for safety, technical competence, quality, schedule and cost).
•Contract management
Conducts regular progress reviews, identifies and manages contractual risks.
•Planning and Control
Plan resources and develop as per business needs. Defines relevant performance metrics. Creates work plans and cost estimates for engineering work.
•Risk and Opportunity Management
Ensures completion of risk assessments and opportunity assessments (e.g. variation orders and claims) and implementation of resulting actions across projects.
•Supply chain management
Collaboration to ensure that correct suppliers services and equipment are available to support the engineering execution.
The lead designer for design discipline on assignments of moderate size or portions of major projects, specialized solutions - classified as high design complexity. Complete design assignments efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Create, modify, analyze and optimize the design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction.
Technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as medium engineering complexity. Ensure that activities related to engineering discipline within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. To develop electrical design solutions optimized in terms of cost, quality and customer satisfaction.
Complete responsible for Engineering the Projects including but not limited quality engineering deliverables, co-ordination with Customer and availing drawing approval, close co-ordination with internal teams to meet the production targets on time and within cost budget,
Resourceful with cross function teams to achieve business results.
- Provide active support to Project Management in participating technical meetings with Client/Consultant, to maintain on-time delivery, and cost reduction techniques by means of alternative/optimum technical solutions.
- Prepare & provide all Engineering documents required for Procurement, Production to meet the dept. targets and provide any technical clarifications to cross functional teams as and when required.
- Providing required support to Sales team with optimum technical solution/participating in technical meetings to get more orders & margin improvements.
Create and modify the standard designs of equipment, systems or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction for assignments classified as low to medium complexity by applying standard design concepts.
- analyzes customer specifications in order to have a clear picture of Customers requirement to prepare a reliable technical solution
- ensures the optimization of the electrical design in terms of cost and customer specification, in accordance with ABB technical standards and with material cost estimated at quotation stage
- Responsible independently for the Engineering solution for the allotted Project, balancing Customer specification/satisfaction, optimum cost effective solution and using ABB standard solution/standards hence effectively maintaining Customer satisfaction and creating value to local business unit.
• Design and calculation of all electrical systems for residential buildings including telecom, fire safety, building management system, home automation systems
• Planning and design of Master plan & Infrastructure network
• Obtain Approvals (NOC) of designs from local authorities (DEWA, Etisalat, Dubai Civil Defence, etc.)
• Coordination & technical meetings with design teams in other branch offices located in Madrid & Saudi Arabia
• Technical interfacing with other architects, structural engineers & mechanical engineers to comply and meet design requirements
-Project planning & execution supply of marine & sea safety equipments for EPC Clients of Offshore Projects
-Managing project resources to meet deadlines & assuring commitments are attained
-Procurement management of products for the project
-Documentation at project completion for submission to customer
-Financial management controlling project cost & cash flow
-Customer Management with meetings, progress status and feedbacks
Training in design and manufacturing unit of Switchgear and Controls Division and also in Electrical and Automation Systems
Worked with the technical team in development, manufacture and testing of LV switchgear to satisfy in full, the requirements of all relevant international standards
