Advising and coaching line managers and leading on all employee relations matters from start to finish including disciplinaries, appeals, grievances, change management, performance management, absence and capability matters, conflict resolution, settlements, redundancies and restructures (including some international ER). This includes leading on complex ER matters in unionised environments.
Involvement from start to finish in international and UK recruitment and selection (including writing job adverts, negotiation with recruitment agencies, screening, interviews, candidate offer and feedback)
Providing advice, support and training to stakeholders on recruitment and selection
Partnering with senior leadership on diversity and inclusion initiatives (lead on becoming disability confident employer, created various D&I policies and relevant guidance), worked with senior leadership to create D&I workforce group initiative
Leading on implementing new policies, conducting regular reviews of existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and any legislative updates
Improving employee benefits offering: mentoring scheme, gym subsidization scheme, new employee benefits portal, new parental leave policies and pay
Design and delivery of bespoke training to support business needs, specifically designing wellbeing, recruitment and employee relations specific training
Sourcing and accessing externally funded training where appropriate
Providing guidance on immigration and right to work issues
HR metric analysis and salary benchmarking activities for yearly salary review process
Occupational Health referrals for employees
Upkeep of HRIS
Mentoring of HR Intern
HR contact for assigned client group (approx. 120 people); advising on ER issues, policy and process and dealing with cases where appropriate
Managing parental leave processes, including creating maternity line manager toolkits
Managing the implementation of new HRIS (Workday) for specific modules
Designing and delivering training on the new HRIS, including creating guides and policies
Managing the employee life cycle, including leading the Company Induction, probation reviews and exit interviews.
Support with TUPE transfers and redundancies
Other administrative duties
Preparing UK and international documentation relating to the employee life cycle including contracts, amendments and leaver documentation to approximately 320 employees across 66 stores in 17 countries
Tailoring new starter processes to the relevant country
Organising and delivering global store manager inductions
French translation on behalf of employees, legal representatives and contractual documentation
Other administrative duties
Acting as first point of contact for all general enquiries to the HR department
Taking a lead role in day to day activities relating to recruitment and selection processes, from advertisement to appointment
Supporting the training and development team with careers fairs to promote apprenticeship schemes
Preparing documents relating to employee life cycle
Implementing processes to ensure right to work compliance
Identified the need for and implemented new processes relating to the effective use of the ATS
