Carried out one day a week simultaneously with my final year at university, my main job was to research various disabled students’ experiences within higher education in order to complete an academic literature review, linking the curriculum to industry standards and social models relating to disabilities. With our findings my colleague and I lead a World Café event with stakeholders to identify barriers and gaps within disability inclusion amongst higher education and then later on in the workplace. Our findings were presented at multiple board hearings and within an academic journal to further policy development. After the internship, my colleague and I were asked to stay on part-time to further the project, which is what I am currently doing remotely from Abu Dhabi. This has so far included completing multiple transcriptions of interviews carried out with key stakeholders and coding the data in a research setting.

Throughout this summer internship, I supported the Marketing and PR departments with administration. I also wrote published articles for their website and magazine, managed their social media accounts to increase their consumer interaction and following through regular posts and creating a content calendar. I integrated various new creative ideas on how to adapt and evolve their content for a younger target market in which they were trying to attract.

Employability Support Assistant

One of my most rewarding experiences was my placement year at LJMU. I was awarded Highly Commended for the Vice-Chancellor's Intern of the Year Nominated for the Aldi’s Best Placement Student Award.
My daily tasks included providing a 1st line support with admin, workshops, and events. However, I also managed the ESU’s website, notice boards and social media sites to increase traction onto their platforms.
I partook in a marketing campaign for two videos in which I featured in both and solely took charge in creating an industrial placement brochure that is now handed out on open days.
Due to my organization I was asked to join the Customer Service Excellence team and helped them achieve 5 areas of compliance plus by managing and organising the external examiner’s visits, all documentation and staff meetings.

Throughout my four years at University I not only covered an extensive range of topics through modules such as Operations Management, Organisational Behaviour and Management, E-Commerce for Managers, and Strategic Management, but I was also able to successfully acquire my PRINCE2 Foundation qualification in project management. Specific modules in International Marketing Strategy for Business and Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications, have expanded my knowledge on key marketing theories and strategies, such as the marketing mix, consumer behaviour and buyer power. Corporate Social Responsibility was also another module that sparked my interest as it is a topic area I feel strongly about; businesses will have to consider their CSR in order to be successful and sustainable in the future.

International Student Mentor

Having a friendly and welcoming face when coming to a new country can completely transform one's experience, which is why I also took part in promoting the scheme to fellow students. Resulting in the number of mentors to double from the previous year.
