Responsibilities:
• Carry out Gas Turbine (GT), Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), and Steam Turbine (ST) pre-start up checks lists, perform pre-start checks on various auxiliaries of the plant and carry out valve line-up for the water/steam cycle.
• Carry out Multistage Desalination Unit (MSF) pre-start checks and carry out valve line-up of the different equipment.
• Perform regular plant surveillance and monitoring, accomplish the relevant operating logsheets and report any observed leaks and abnormality to the Shift Charge Engineer.
• Check and ensure that the Fire and Gas Protection equipment is on Automatic mode and operational at all times.
• Perform the duty of Designated Person inisolation and de-isolation of plant for the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
• Perform Gas Turbine and Compressor washing as directed by the Sr. Shift Engineer.
• Perform the duties of stand in Control Room Engineer whenever necessary.
• Carry out plant routines as specified in the relevant instructions.
• Record in the relevant area logbook major events.
• Continually strive to improve own and other processes involved.
