• Preparing Electrical Detailed Design Drawings for various Road and Infrastructure projects.

• Prepares Electrical Design Drawings for various Building and Pumping Stations projects.

• Conducts Value Engineering studies in order to identify and recommend areas for cost
reduction from optimal re-design of projects and optimal quantity of required
construction materials.

• Reviews the cost and time impact submitted by the contractor and advises the project
head the actual impact and mitigation measures.

• Determines the scope of work to be done by the contractor and particular specifications
of electrical equipment as part of the tender documents.

• Reviews the Bill of Quantities in compliance with the design drawings.

• Reviews, comments and validates any changes from approved tender documents
proposed by the contractors.

• Ensures that the drawings and design are as per the local regulations and international
standards and codes of safety and stability.

• Supports in conducting technical analysis of tender bids.

• Monitors the progress of the project and standard of the work delivered by the contractor
to ensure that the project specifications and approved parameters are met.

• Ensures the Project parameters for Electrical and Infrastructure projects are met in line
with agreed project objectives e.g. time, costs and quality.

• Conducts the review; provides advice and recommendations for amendments to the
design at various stages of the project.

• Respond to Tender Queries.

• Weekly monitoring of tasks and submissions under review by local authorities.

• Updating our Group Leader for the status of tasks and submissions under review by local
authorities, highlighting the impeding constraints, and provide solutions to accomplish
the tasks and obtain approvals.

• Providing engineering support to our Dubai and Abu Dhabi teams.

• Guiding, teaching, and assisting interns and associate engineers.

• Attending trainings, seminars and engaging in Smart City Initiatives of the State of Qatar.

• Contributed to the successful delivery of Important Multi-Million USD Infrastructure Design
Projects by Qatar Public Works Authority (PWA) “Ashghal” in line with Qatar 2030 Vision
and as preparation for FIFA World Cup 2022. Projects were submitted ahead of the
scheduled delivery time.

• One of the Key Players of the Value Engineering Task of Mesaimeer Road Project which
saved QAR 31M (USD 8.5M) to the project.

• Performs analysis, calculation and design of electrical services for residential, commercial
and infrastructure projects based on international and local standards and practices.

• Actively engaging all concerned project stakeholders and determining their project
requirements and needs to be used as additional references to develop concept,
preliminary and detailed designs.

• Generating Electrical Load Estimation as stipulated in different International and Local
Standards and applying allowed demand, diversity and coincident factors.

• Develops Electrical Single Line Diagram which includes information regarding the required
rating, type and size of switchgears, circuit breakers, fuses, cables, generators,
transformers, capacitor for power factor correction, relays, busbars, Automatic Transfer
Switches (ATS’), Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units, central battery system,
enclosure ingress protection (IP) etc.

• Planning and designing Medium Voltage (MV) distribution network backed up by
engineering calculations and studies such as load flow and short circuit analyses,
underground cable current carrying capacity calculations, protection scheme, resilience,
stability and contingency studies.

• Determining the number and strategic location of Medium Voltage (MV) distribution
substations including designing the types, sizes, ratings and arrangement of switchgears,
transformers, cableways, feeder pillars, fire alarm systems, internal small power outlets
and lighting fixtures.

• Design of Street Lighting System which includes calculation and simulation of lighting
levels using required softwares (AGI32 and Dialux), location and height of street lighting
poles and feeder pillars, specifying the required type of lighting luminaires, lighting
control schematic diagram and voltage drop calculation.

• Detailed Design of LV Networks which includes LV wires and cables, conduit, cable tray
and busway systems, determining the size and locations of power outlets, lighting
fixtures, Motor Control Centers (MCC’s) Distribution Boards (DB’s), Sub Main Switchboard
(SMSB’s) Main Switch Boards (MSB’s) and size and type of circuit breakers for each final
branch circuits.

• Design of the LV power supply connection of Traffic Signal Controllers, Intelligent Traffic
System (ITS) Feeder Pillars and Bus Stop Feeder Pillars.

• Providing Technical Feasibility and Conceptual Studies for the proposal of a complete
distribution system of a potential Infrastructure Area which will include 11kV Substations
and complete MV and LV Infrastructure Network based on the estimated load per plot
area and the demand peak load for each type of plot (i.e., residential, industrial,
commercial, community facility etc.)


• Properly coordinating the Electrical Designs with Architectural, Civil Structural and
Mechanical disciplines.

• Performs research and studies for the development of existing and obsolete electrical
services.

• Performs Value Engineering.

• Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Technical Specifications of all electrical devices and
equipment specified in the submitted designs.

• Monitors the material delivery, work progress, and supervises the installation of electrical
devices and equipment such as transformers, distribution boards, switch boards UPS’s,
cables, conduits, socket outlets, isolators etc.

• Reviews material submittals, shop and as-built drawings.

• Responding to contractor’s technical queries.
• Attends and participates in coordination meetings with the Project Manager, Engineers
and Architects. Provide information in the preparation of progress and updates to the
owner’s representative for the project development.

• Determining and maintaining the available site resources to be utilized with other
electrical devices and equipment.
