Responsible to AIG NZ IT BAU, and new initiatives. Presented Target State Architecture to NZ BOD, and IT roadmap for next 5 years. Re-structuring IT team, and uplifted IT to be more strategic partner with AIG NZ business in aligning on business direction.

Reporting to the MD/CEO, recruited to set up IT division for RHB Insurance and quickly to move businesses and IT system infrastructure towards digitalization. Oversee all IT functions including data center management, vendor relationships, technical support, application development, financial monitoring and disaster recovery planning. Manage operating budget and direct activities of 50+ staff.
Started with quick win tactical action, which was to introduce upgrading the platform to internet enable, and enhance to multi-browser to support difference browsers and devices. Moving on with introduction to online insurance in RHB Internet banking portal, fully automated selling engine with minimal human intervention on substandard cases.
Create digital roadmap to target implement all digital initiatives by 2019 which includes: Mobile apps of customer 360° view, claim experiences apps, customer portal website, API to online stores, telematics apps for motor insurance and white labelling for 3rd parties.
Report to Head of Personal Finance, to expand the business channels and re-engineer the operation processes. Lead several departments to manage business projects, to introduce new products and campaigns. Introduced new dashboard reporting and analytic tools for better business decision, and also manage system support department to support business users.
Notable Accomplishments:
• Re-engineer processes reduce 30% of manpower, and increase 40% of efficiency and accuracy.
• Extended system feature captured 15% of market value.
• Improved collection and reduced NPL to less than 3%.
Responsible to set up project management governance and standards and manage a team of project managers. Later manage IT on Application Support and Business Analysts to support business and operation users. As well as managed IT CAPEX and OPEX for the entire IT TCO.
Notable Accomplishments:
• Consolidated Servers and Relocated to HK Data Centre.
• Project Managed System Replacement - iPos (Banca Portal), iLOG (Decision Engine) and Core Insurance System (Life400, CSC).
• Straight through Process to improve TAT from T+5 to T+0.
• Took over Vendor support and saved company RM1.2 million a year (cost saving on OPEX).
Full-fledged Project Management framework and governance based on CMMi L3 guidelines. Established Program management office and responsible to deliver all new products and services.
