JOB DESCRIPTION
• Delivery of nursing care to antenatal and postnatal women and newborn babies.
• Use of various medical devices like cardiotocograph, electronic fetal monitors, defibrillators and neonatal resuscitaire.
• Coordinate the care of low and high risk laboring women of childbearing age and the immediate stabilization of the newborn following delivery.
• Provision of basic care to healthy newborns and higher level of care to those requiring intravenous medications and diagnostic procedures.
• Educate and support patients' families regarding postpartum and neonatal care.
• Organize individualized care from point of first contact throughout the episode of care, incorporating discharge planning in the plan of care.
Infection Control Link Practitioner
• Increase awareness on infection control issues in the clinical area and to motivate staff to improve practice by performing monthly educational session.
• Perform monthly audits on wound care statistics, hand hygiene observations and patient care equipment.
• Develop innovative ways to communicate infection control information including best practice standards and relevant supportive resources.
Quality Ambassador
• Plan, develop, coordinate and implement quality improvement educational activities, together with other Quality Practitioners, to attain high quality patient care.
• Provide guidance to the staff and counsel them in the quality improvement activities and patient safety programs.
• Conduct monthly audits to identify discrepancies and areas of improvement.
Acting Charge Nurse
•Responsible for managing, supervising and assisting the nursing staff, providing administrative support and patient care.
