 Procedural compliance.
 Participate in fire and rescue duties, follow instructions from the duty watch and crew commander to ensure the effectiveness of the operations, and minimize damage to life and property.
 Help maintain, test, inspect and repair fire service appliances and associated equipment.
 Participate in fire service drills and simulation exercises to ensure competencies are enhanced, maintained and refreshed.
 Be able to demonstrate a basic competency in reading and writing English in order that documentation produced is to a reasonable standard, enabling such documents to with stand scrutiny during any GCAA inquiry.
 Must successfully complete FIA Radio Telephony course.
 Maintain personal fitness and complete Firefighter medical in accordance with GCAA Car Part XI.
 Carry out any duties as part of the crew as and when required as listed below:

 Fire and rescue work as required.
 First aid duties.
 Operation of vehicle radio.
 Basic maintenance of fire service vehicle and equipment.
 Assisting crew/passenger as required.
 Attendance to non emergency RFFS duties.
 Assisting airside duty officer as and when required.
 General maintenance when reasonably required.

 Driving and operating non specialist vehicles and plant including basic maintenance of vehicle and plant.
 General airfield maintenance including equipment for this purpose.
 Escorting vehicle or person on the airfield.
 General housekeeping duties within the fire station and fire ground areas.
 General cleaning of all vehicles and equipment.

Response to actual or potential fire emergencies to prevent or extinguish fire and rescue Aircraft crew passengers.
* Responds to structural fires, including airport building facilities, fuel farms, petroleum product storage areas and any other area of the airport buildings, facilities, and combat fire other potential fire hazards.
* Applies foam on fuel spill to minimize danger of aircraft fire or explosion.
