MANAGEMENT TRAINEE TO THE HEAD OF TRADE FINANCE & HEAD ENTERPRISE RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Duties/Experience
• Worked independently in corporation & coordination with the head of trade finance, risk compliance manager and the CEO.
• Seeking out opportunities for alliances and partnerships with like minded institutions for the long term benefit of trade finance.
• Synergism with my immediate managers through research with the aim of providing solid information for use in exploring possible partnerships for trade.
• Drafting documentations and templates for trade finance projects.
• Supporting marketing activities through sales.
• Worked in hand with the trade finance manager in the preparation of the trade financing cycle & letters of credit.
• S.W.O.T analysis of partners and clients to ascertain level of risk before any business is carried out.
• Carrying out Anti-money laundering measures and Enhanced due diligence on trade partners.
Apart from my core functions, I also got an exposure to the BASEL laws in international banking. Through marketing and research through mind mapping got to know the financial structures of institutions and their key operatives which were vital when closing a deal.

*Transfers i.e both internal and external.
*Bankers cheques processing and postings.
*Western union transactions postings.
*Mpesa services at the teller.
*Preparation of foreign draft cheques and postings.
*Training of new management trainees on telling and other operations
• local market developments for changes in procedures and or reporting requirements.
• Manage customer queries, complains and other correspondence in a timely manner and within set standards for customer satisfaction.
• Maintain Forex rates in the core banking system.

Duties/Experience
• Growing the branch assets & liabilities through branch staff referrals and own sales of current and savings accounts, credit cards, personal installments loans and mortgages.
• Identifying and pursuing sales opportunities and converting sales pipeline into actual sales.
• Implementations of sales strategies, underpinning market efforts to acquire, expand and retain profitable partnerships and grow the market share in accordance with branch sales targets.
• Co-coordinating with my line manager to ensure monthly targets are achieved and performance reports submitted.
• Ensuring an excellent customer experience is offered to bank clients during consultations.
• Ensuring Customer due diligence and anti-money laundering measures are conducted on customers prior to any bank solutions offered.
• Actively participating and challenging status quo of the business to improve processes through documented service storming seasons.
During this entire work period I managed to create a wide pool of potential networks for the banks solution. Was also successful in the creation of several activations and partnerships between the bank and various corporate institutions paving way for growth of the branch’s new business revenue through deals entered with the corporate.
