• Manage and provide technical support of databases used in UNHCR operations (Afghan and IDP registration, voluntary repatriation, resettlement, etc.) including planning and overseeing data collection, input and verifications; production of standard and ad hoc reports
• Plan, design and develop modules, such as database tables, forms, querries and reports for internal UNHCR office use.
• Prepare monthly statistical reports and respond to customized report requests from UNHCR staff, governments-Counter-parts and partners
• Maintain Afghan Resettlement and RSD database (proGres), prepare monthly reports and arrange for data transfers to BOI as and when requested.
• Ensure that data collection is compatible with GIS as necessary and to provide GIS technical expertise and support to program as and when required
• Design and develop various kinds of thematic maps for the operational use at Sub Office, Peshawar and field offices in K-P.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Government-managed data base centres
• Provide high quality maps and related outputs materials in formats required for publication in documents etc
• Maintain the GIS database and its application
• Archive and backup database systems periodically; ensure security of databases; perform database administrator functions
• Assist all units in creation, design and maintenance of database and spreadsheets that meet operational requirements
• Supervise support staff in the Unit and manage a team of data entry staff
• Propose, plan, and implement new projects to improve database registration process and other program related processes to improve efficieny and effectiveness
• Represent UNHCR in cluster meetings and work with registration working groups within clusters.
