PEL is the pioneer manufacturer of electrical goods (transformers, switchgear and electric motors) in Pakistan. Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and ERCON is among our few Middle East clients. Reporting to Senior Mechanical Engineer and managing a team of 5 personals to execute the mechanical design of distribution transformers, some of my job responsibilities are:
•Collaborate closely with all relevant departments, once the approval process is complete.
•Identify potential project risks and propose appropriate solutions where possible.
•Analyze design engineering output to ensure compliance with project requirements
•Take on board all customer feedback and react promptly with design improvements.
Projects:
•Predicting the hot spot temperature and max oil temp rise by transient thermal modeling of distribution transformers (ONAN) using MATLAB and Pro-Engineer software.
•Performing structural analysis of distribution transformers considering the forces generated at time of short circuit using Ms Excel and Pro Engineer.
Achievement:
•Reduced the weight of distribution transformers of rating 100, 200 and 300 KVA, pole mounted (ONAN) by 10% using design optimization technique in Pro-Engineer software.
