Equipment Controller: This procedure includes checking the availability of the Equipment’s
o Allocation of Container Handling Equipment and manpower in the yard as required, implementing the plans made by Yard planner & Ship planner and Dispatching work instructions to equipment and constant monitoring of all activities in the terminal.
o Make sure to avoid the uninterrupted operations and to ensure the smooth flow of terminal activities
Yard Planner:
o Ensure that Yard activity operations should carry properly and monitored according to established procedures.
o Receives the summary of container(s) and prepares the yard allocation i.e. Filter, Group, Range.
o Prepares plan position for container(s), which was booked for customs exam areas, and containers, which were subject for delivery.
o Prepares yard shuffling and or consolidation to decongest the stacking areas in order to accommodate import & export containers.
o Sees to it that the allocated areas should be free from obstructions prior to prepare a Yard planning to ensure the smooth flow of CHE as well as the terminal activity and or vessel operations.
o Monitored properly the areas, which was planned.
o Close coordination with the Equipment controller/Ship planner / Operations Supt. /Supervisor and Safety Officer.
Ship Planner:
o Responsible for creating ship’s profiles thru SPARCS which was provided by the shipping line, Prepares Plan for loading & discharging with the basis of the shipping agents plan submitted to us.
o Input/updated the discharge container list in the Stow Plan Basic thru Express System & crosschecked against the SPARCS summary.
o Informed immediately the Manifest section if any discrepancies found on the discharging & loading details to notify the shipping agents & updated the records accordingly.
o Prepares & Print a pre-planned load profiles in SPARCS system & confirms it w/the chief officer on arrival of vessel.
o Confer with the Operations Supt. / Supervisor / Senior Tally & vessel foreman prior to finalize the discharge/load plan profiles.
o Monitored the vessel(s) operations from time to time to ensure that all containers were discharge / loaded accordingly.
o Close coordination with vessel chief officer, Yard Planner, Equipment Controller. Optns. Superintendent / Supervisor / Senior Tally / Safety Officer and or Operator Foreman to have a smooth flow of operations.
RoRo operations:
• Tracking of military and commercial cargo at the time of discharge and loading on RoRo vessels.
• Tracking of cargo at the time of receiving from military yard to the pier to confirm whether the cargo is allocated for the forthcoming vessel or not.
• Preparation of discharge manifest in sequence upon receivable of discharge list from agent’s office for easier operation at the time of vessel discharge operation.
• Continuous updating of received cargo and update in system for easier loading operation.
• Analyzing of hourly basis tally to maintain consistency of the discharged figure or loading figures.
• Making of deck wise tally and keep track of ongoing operation.
• Making thoroughly rounds inside the vessel and yard to keep an eye on operation if any changes or updates.
• Responsible for a safe working condition on the vessel seeing to it that all fast operating and to arrive on the desired cargo moves per hour
• Good knowledge of operations on RORO vessels (US Military, commercial, break-bulk)
• Coordination with military & all departments for smooth operation
