Technician (Aide) Operate the equipments like Ultrasonic/Irrigation, washer dryer, decontamination unit, steam sterilizers (including loading and unloading), Instrument marking. Able to startup and close down the computer tracking system, testing machines daily, Perform biological Tests BI and heat sealer checks. Preparation of surgical goods and instrumentation for sterilization, appropriately identify each sterilizer load, maintain record of each and distribute sterilized trays to specific user departments. Experience with Endoscope reprocessing including leak testing, manual cleaning (brushing and fushing), automated disinfection by using endoscope washer disinfectors (EWDs), followed by drying and storage and documentation. Flexible with all areas and participates in the department On-Call rota as required. Assisting with quality control and quality assurance checks as well as compliance with Boards policies and maintaining ahigh standard of cleanliness.
As a technician I gained hands-on experience in decontamination, preparing and sterilizing medical instruments, maintaining inventory, and adhering to strict safety protocols as well as hands on experience in endoscope reprocessing in OT.
Ensuring proper storage and handling of sterile supplies to prevent contamination and maintain sterility.
Adhering to infection control protocols and regulatory requirements to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and ensure patient safety.
