• Established and ensure implementation of the HSE Management System and plan on all work sites ensuring compliance with OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

Role:
• Ensuring Safety poster display & alerts and celebrating safety week / day
• Organizing Induction Training Programme for new employees, Tool Box Meeting, Pep Talk Training, Staff Meeting and Sub Contractors Meeting
• Coordinating with:
o Client and others for fulfilling client’s requirement
o Concerned departments for campaigns, competitions, contests and other activities for developing & maintaining interest of workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work & procedures
• Providing advice to Management & Contractor on EHS issues according to organization standards & policies
• Generating reports / records / checklists on site EHS activities
• Conducting weekly safety inspections and providing recommendations on unsafe acts & conditions at site
• Supervising and training subordinates
• Carrying out Ho programme for safety materials and aligning them as per requirements
• Following mandatory checklists & posters on site and maintaining checklists, activities & documents related to EHS
• Preparing and administering programmes, practices, rules and reports on safety
• Advising Purchasing & Store Departments for guaranteeing high quality & availability of personal protective equipment
• Investigating site accidents / incidents / near misses and analyzing their trends for maintaining records & reports on findings
• Initiating & proposing preventive & corrective strategies for personal injuries and evaluating their effectiveness
• Arranging fire, first aid & safety demo, medical camp and work place safety training for contractors and worker at site
Chennai Metro Rail under ground Project.
• Explain the workers the site safety rules/instructions in their regional language while commencing new job or as required from time to time.
• Check all the fall protection safety provisions provided at height work on daily basis.
• Inspect the scaffold properly before to start of any activity.
• Ensure the LOTO system was followed or not at the time any electrical maintenance work.
• Ensure all the work permit system was correctly followed by all the employees.
• Maintain necessary discipline and prevent workers from horseplay, fiddling with equipment /tools/PPE etc.
• Check all the fall protection safety provisions provided at height works on daily basis.
• Reviewing design and drawing of safety layouts, hazardous classification of Tunnel projects.
• Reviewing emergency preparedness plan when project progress and conducted emergency drills.

• Conducting regular training in confined space entry, working in confined space and safe procedures followed in confined space for all Tunnel management staff, supervisory staff and workers.
• Conducting regular training in fire protection and prevention to Tunnel and Station management and supervisory staff.
• Conducting regular training on electrical safety, conducting electrical inspection and audits for Tunnel and Stations.
• Prepare safe work procedures for construction and tunnel for about various topics.
• Conducting weekly, monthly EHS inspection of projects.
• Conducting internal EHS audit prior to ISO audits.
• Prepared material and Issued EHS newsletter.
• Consulting with construction team on safety issues & preventative measures.
• To Organize Safety method statement briefing & monthly HSE report.
