Sep 12 - Present: ▫ Prosperitus Commodities, Co-Founder and Managing Director, London

• Co-founded a physical commodities trading/brokerage and financial advisory firm focused on base metals, petroleum products, iron ore, and agri commodities;
• Successfully secured exculsive sell-side agency mandate from Ukraninan state owned grain export house for Egyptian market (world's largest wheat import market) which led to approx US$70 million of business being executed in 2012;
• Currently advising a mid-sized physical iron ore trader on a US$200 million capital raising for an iron ore pre-purchase program from a Latin American state owned producer;
• Successfully raised balance sheet capital for a private Singaporean physical oil trading group active in Shari'ah compliant non bank-financed trading of diesel, jet fuel, and fuel oil cargoes;
• Built out the firm across three locations/offices globally including securing capital partners, new shareholders, and recruiting various team members;
• Currently building a petroleum products trading platform for the firm.

Sep 07 - Present: ▫ Prosperitus Capital Partners LLP, Founder and Co-Managing Partner, London
• Founded Prosperitus Capital Partners ("PCP") a private equity and alternative investments advisory group focused on emerging market real estate and quasi-infrastructure assets after successfully and single-handedly raising venture capital funding for the firm;
• Worked with institutional investors and private equity funds throughout the Middle East, Europe, North America, and Asia sourcing high quality proprietary dealflow, structuring Shari'ah compliant investment vehicles, and assisting investors to diversify their real estate holdings across high growth emerging economies;
• Led the strategy of the firm to focus on transactions which reflected key macroeconomic and demographic trends that are emerging within India and other fast growing economies,
• Built the firm's advisory board and investment committee;
• Brought in the other partners include Anckur Srivasttava, the former Country Head and Managing Director of DTZ India, and Raghu Rao, the former Country Head and Managing Director of Deutsche Bank PWM, India;
• Recruited all members of the Board include Faheem Aziz, formerly of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Swicorp, Harris Irfan the former Director of Global Markets and Head of Private Equity for the MENA region for Deutsche Bank, and Riaz A. Jul 06- Sep 07: ▫ Goldman Sachs, Equities Division, Pan-European Sales - Investor Marketing Group, London
• Origination side of the European IMG desk providing co-coverage of the Emerging Markets, TMT, Consumer Products, and Healthcare sectors in addition to support coverage of all other sectors
• Primary duties include preparing tailored pitches for corporate clients with whom GS is looking to expand ties with by providing shareholder targeting services, as well as institutional investor feedback, trading floor sentiment and trading flows, roadshow planning, as well as market perception studies for senior management
• Undertaking shareholder register analysis to identify investors with underweight or missing holdings versus the company's peer group before then arranging and executing senior management roadshows covering locations where key holders or potential holders are present, thus helping the company market themselves to GS' institutional investor client-base
• Delivering the "morning call" daily, briefing my team on overnight market developments as well as a wrap of previous day's trading on European bourses, covering all corporate developments, central bank announcements, commodity market movements, and most importantly Equity Research recommendation changes which may effect relationships with our clients
• Playing a central role between GS' Investment Banking division, our corporate clients, and their shareholders via soliciting feedback from investors post roadshow (sometimes ahead of deal related activities)
• Monitored GS market shares in terms of volumes traded across all major European indices in order to strengthen client relations
• Gained a fundamental understanding of European equity markets from the perspective of both sell-side, buy-side, and corporate management as well as the dynamics that drive the relationships between a company and it's shareholders

Feb 05 - Jul 06: ▫ Goldman Sachs, Prime Brokerage Trade Management, London

* Responsible for day-to-day monitoring of pan-European and Asian equity and fixed income offline security transfers for specific clients in order to ensure efficient settlement across all non-DTC markets
* Role primarily involves liaising between clients and a number of GS Prime Brokerage teams including inventory management, stock lending, settlements, and compliance in order to ensure identical position reporting between client and GS PB on a daily basis
* Also responsible for instructing client cash transfers and liaising between client relationship managers and GS PB teams including Treasury, Margining, and Control/Compliance
* Initiated a number of streamlining projects and initiatives in order to facilitate better communication between clients and various GS PB teams and greater efficiency in offline transaction settlement
* Selected to attend the 8-week intensive Goldman Sachs graduate Analyst Program in New York covering corporate debt fundamentals as well as sovereign debt, equity markets, advanced valuation theory, equity and credit derivative products as well as soft skills such as presentation, negotiation, and pitching skills
* Gained a fundamental understanding of the Prime Brokerage business as well as insight into the dynamics of several markets

* Primary duties included the accurate and timely dissemination of future corporate action event details and transaction information to the relevant settlement, funding, or reconciliations teams and also to prevent the occurrence of duplicate transactions
* Responsible for overseeing a major external-to-internal custodian switch and was responsible for highlighting functional errors in existing operational processes

Jul - Aug 04: ▫ HBOS Treasury Services - Group Operational Risk Management, London

* Involved in the testing and refinement of a new Op-Risk software tool called OpData developed in association with Algorithmics
* Primary duties included the classification of a large number of business risks faced by HBOS and integrating them into the new model
* Conducted sensitivity analysis & quantified risks in monetary terms in order to improve the accuracy of HBOS' risk reporting tools

Jun - Sep 03: ▫ UBS Warburg - Equity Research Summer Analyst Program, London

* Initiated a major research project which looked at the impact of China's entry to the WTO on global supply chains and shipping volumes. Project involved the development of a database that is now being used to analyse trends in US import behaviour in order to quantify the extent of global manufacturing relocation, and identify the shipping companies best positioned for these trends
* Placed with the number one rated UBS Transport team supporting senior analysts through research and data analysis
* Gained excellent insight into the Equity Research business area through attending company results presentations, meeting companies, valuing companies, delivering contrarian stock presentations, and undertaking exciting leading edge research
