Managing the Credit Administration of Large Corporates, Mid Corporates, Corporate Linked Business Group, MNC, Financial Institutions & Agricultural Business Division of the Bank and lending unit of Kotak Mahindra Prime Ltd ( Kotak Group Company). The portfolio size is around 2200 accounts with an exposure of INR 600, 000 million. Credit Admin Team consists of around 45 persons and spread over several locations all over India

• Security documentation - Working in partnership with Relationship Managers on new and existing customers to perfect security according to sanction requirements. Supervising the drafting of documentation through legal counsel for Syndication deals / non standard draft in line with the role of the bank & other activities related to Market Deals.
• Checking security documents for perfection, renewal and safe keeping. Rectification & documentation of any recommendations arising out of Audit/Assurance reports on the Credit Risk. Updating data warehouse to reflect the collateral and documentation status
• Loan processing - Overseeing limit administration
• Monitoring and Control of accounts to ensure post sanction fulfillment. Performing periodic due diligence exercise on the loan portfolio, this includes periodic review of entire loan and security documentation of Banks’ Loans and Advances
• Producing robust Management Information to report the quality of adherence to sanctions’ terms & conditions.
• Maintaining external relationships with Statutory & concurrent auditors, external legal counsel, Stock auditors, Valuers and Professional Consultants.
• Member of the Operation Risk Committee of the Bank.
• Key member in Credit Policy & Process making team
• Coordinate with Sanctioning team, relationship and Operations team to ensure all activities are met within SLA and make sure both internal and external customers are satisfied

Head -Risk Control Unit at Barclays Bank

Risk Control is a unit under Commercial Banking to serve the needs of Large Corporates, Mid Corporates, Business Banking Enterprises, Small and Medium Enterprises, Financial Institutions and Structured Credit. I managed a portfolio of 800 accounts with exposure over INR 200, 000 million. My responsibilities included:-

• Handling entire documentation activity from sanction till disbursement. Checking security documents for perfection, renewal and safe keeping. Rectification & documentation of any recommendations arising out of Audit/Assurance reports on the Credit Risk
• Monitoring and control of customer’s credit limits
• Loan processing - Overseeing deal administration; Capturing trades in systems; settlements; arranging for loan drawdown / rollovers / SBLC processing
• Supervision of conduct of accounts to ensure post sanction fulfillment.
• Developing the periodical MIS to convey a clear portfolio view for business, risk and bank management. Interrogate and analyse data extracted from the client database and investigate any anomalies
• Put process to capture the risk data accurately in the spreadsheets and to have adequate reconciliation controls (between data warehouse, global data base, core banking system and general ledger) to detect exceptions
• Managing India, UK regulatory returns as well as other returns
• Maintaining external relationships with auditors, external legal counsel, stock auditors, Valuers and Professional Consultants.

Head - Credit Risk Monitoring at Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.

.Set up and heading entire Credit Risk Monitoring dept in Kotak Mahindra Bank. Located in their Mumbai Head office. Number of branches handled 70 and number of corporate accounts approx 700. Responsible for monitoring all post disbursement activities of wholesale banking (emerging local corporates, corporates, FIGs small & medium enterprises), retail banking and agriculture dept of the Bank. Ensuring compliance with guidelines of the Central Bank in India, the Bank’s credit policy and all stipulations laid down in the credit approval. Responsible for tracking, reporting all past due credit facilities and following up for regularization. Ensuring all excesses in the account is in terms of appropriate approval.
