1. Core member of the Global Corporate Responsibility team for CGI and reporting directly to the Group Environment Lead. The key responsibilities of the core team includes:
a. Inclusion of CGI in sustainability indexes like DJSI and DCP
b. Reduction of CGI’s relative carbon footprint and environmental impact through plausible abatement levers
c. Support bids, RFPs and certification initiatives
d. Support ISO 14001 countries with periodic environmental performance reports to track and assess compliance to set KPIs.
e. Develop community awareness programs aligned with our clients
f. Promote CGIs CSR services and solutions
g. Develop a philanthropic strategy aligned with our values

2. Manager for both line and operational functions for the Group Environmental Reporting team
a. Maintain & improve environmental reporting principles & guidelines at group level
b. Support countries in setting country-specific reporting standards and calculation sheets.
c. Review and approval for of process documentation for the each environmental indicator
d. Responsible to perform group level review and sign-off of values reported against each environmental indicator

3. Scope of reporting includes - Energy, GHG emissions (office energy, business travel and commute travel), water and waste on a quarterly basis

4. Coordinate the environmental reporting process globally across 20+ geographic regions and facilitate environment disclosure statement to the CEO’s office, CDP, DJSI, country specific ISO 14001 and other compliance requirements and other stakeholders

5. Identify and track progress (including feasibility studies and stakeholder consultation) of potential projects (policy intervention, technology intervention) with positive impact on the operational environment of the company - energy reduction, GHG abatement, reduction in fresh water intake, waste management etc

6. Implementation a group wide Supplier Code of Conduct for the selection of suppliers that includes aspects like human rights, labor standards, the environment, anti-corruption and ethical business practices

Senior Consultant - Climate Change & Sustainability Services at Ernst & Young LLP

1. Environmental performance review for leading business houses in India. Industries covered include - Tobacco, Hotels and Cement
a. The key aspects audited covered include - Energy, water, raw materials, emissions, effluents and waste

c. Environment reporting process review to identify gaps / areas of improvement in data collation, reporting, review and approval procedure

2. Wind power due diligence for one of largest banking and financial service organizations in the world with over 7, 800 offices across 132 countries. As a part of the client’s corporate strategy to reduce its Carbon footprint, the client was exploring plausible renewable energy solutions. The scope of work included providing an independent review of the proposal document, principally from a regulatory and strategic perspective based on the knowledge of risks and opportunities in the Indian renewable energy market and desk based research and review the cash flow financial model that is embedded in the Proposal document

3. Wind Power due diligence for a flexible plastic packaging manufacturing company. The client was exploring the viability of setting a wind power project on an IPP model. The scope of work included carrying out a comprehensive techno-commercial due diligence between shortlisted WTG suppliers.

4. Global review of carbon footprint accounting and reporting, one of the top 4 IT companies, Bangalore, Karnataka - 2011 to 2012 - Our scope of work included a review of Scope 1 Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions as reported in the 2010 CDP report for the client’s IT business. The review included a comparison of current accounting practices with respect to the GHG Protocol and the leading practices in the area. The deliverables included short term and long term recommendations to improve coverage, accuracy, and reproducibility of client’s carbon accounting and reporting.

5. Power procurement strategy, one of the largest IT parks in India, Bangalore, Karnataka - 2012 - The client was planning the expansion (phase 2) of its existing IT park in Bangalore. As part of this engagement, we have conducted viability assessments for various power procurement scenarios. These included (i) 70% of power from a DPP with diesel as fuel and 30% of power from the state grid, (ii) 70% of power from a DPP with gas as fuel and 30% of power from the state grid, and (iii) 95% of power from the state grid and 5% of power from LT diesel generators (backup generators).
