Management of Chemicals and Dyes
· Make a proper selection of dyes considering quality of fibre, yarn, finishing process and suitability of dye to various uses.
· Ensure that chemicals and dyes comply with regulatory safety and production requirements by chemical testing.
· Set the SOPs for testing chemicals and dyes in the laboratory and approve their use in production.
· Set an SOP of procedures that explains how to utilize and manage hazardous chemicals, processes, and procedures to prevent or minimize health and safety concerns.
· Intervene for the correction in the event of non-compliance in the use of chemicals or dyes.
· Follow the chemical inventory, organize and track chemicals throughout their lifecycle. This includes procurement, storage, handling, use, cleanup, and disposal.
Management of Dyeing Production
· Implement the procedure to check the water quality supplied by activated carbon filters and softeners. Intervene in case of non-compliance of the standard suitable for the quality of the water used in dyeing process. Check the quality of the bolier feed water.
· Create SOPs and check both processing and results of the various plants in the dyehouse (caustic soda and mercerizing plant, dyeing machines, dryers, filters and boliers).
. Analyze production data, including production volume, consumption of raw materials and quality control measures and increase productivity.
· Monitor the recipe formulation, shade matching, machine utilization, time schedule and workload as per weekly/monthly target.
· Check the database and the use of the spectrophotometer in the laboratory.
· Production scheduling by make production process as efficient and cost-effective as possible when it comes to materials and people — all while delivering products on time.
· Monitor wastewater quality closely inorder to support sustainable development and reduce pollution.
. Coordinate with the maintenance department on the implementation of maintenance schedules so as not to disrupt production targets.
Sustainability Management
• Partner with internal and external organizations globally to monitor and minimize the usage of restricted substances (finished goods and in manufacturing processes).
• Work with Legal and Product Integrity teams to ensure and maintain compliance with all chemical regulatory requirements.
• Create and execute chemical management policies, tools and methodologies, including The Children's Place Restricted Substance List (RSL) and Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL)
• Facilitate communication of RSL and MRSL requirements throughout the supply chain.
• With Product Integrity and Legal teams, build an expanded risk matrix for product testing to ensure RSL compliance for high-risk vendors and products.
• Enhance database of test results for analysis and continuous improvement
• Review and find resolution of chemical and wastewater testing failures.
• Manage 3rd party service providers for RSL and MRSL on-site audits, root cause analysis and follow-up on corrective action.
• Connect cross-functionally with other teams to share product testing results and updates.
• Identify areas of value-added opportunities around chemicals and wastewater for improvement in the global supply chain.
• Provide oversight and training to suppliers to support capacity building, technical knowledge and thought leadership in chemical and wastewater management performance.
• Lead and develop engagement strategy with clients around preferred chemical use in manufacturing.
• Collaborate and build relationships with external stakeholders (ZDHC) to identify opportunities for improvement and best practices.
