I managed the commercial effort to minimise build cost variance at a £4.4m heritage project at the
photography gallery in London’s prestigious Victoria & Albert Museum.
Resolving a £700k variation account by investigating the evolution of the project design and negotiating down historic accounts by an average of 30%.
Procuring a £10m roof package for a newly awarded project at the V&A.
I have driven the procurement process for a £50m, 193 unit regeneration project made up of houses and blocks of flats in South London.
Developing a procurement strategy to meet a tight build programme aimed at procuring all specialist trade packages in 8 months. I achieved this by focusing on cost savings and finding value engineering solutions on an evolving design to reallocate budget where it's most needed.
Managing several packages including raising variations, valuing payments, forecasting costs, pricing design changes and reporting monthly costs.
Driving the entire tender process for all allocated trade packages on a 744 unit, luxury riverside
development with private resident facilities. Responsibilities included, producing all tender
documents, negotiating bid cost savings, cost forecasting, estimating package cost and writing contracts with extensive exposure to design compliance, health & safety and build authority approval.
Successfully procuring main build packages for a 27 storey tower and 16 storey block with a £200m
build budget. I drove the entire tender bid process through pre-construction design changes and
budget limitations while resolving buildability issues at commencement with no cost variance.
I have closed out numerous trade contracts on a 12 storey block (£106m build budget) while
managing the accounts to practical completion
Achieving cost savings that exceed forecasted company expectation by reporting zero cost on
variations in the last 3 months leading up to completion.
Dispute resolution regarding variations, design information release, final accounts, labour shortage, programme delays, leak insurance claims and extension-of-time claims.
Helping to manage large scale main contractor payments for a £140m, 50 Storey tower with
apartment values ranging from £1.5m -£19m.
I profitably managed 20+ different trade contractors with contract sums ranging from £100, 000 - £11, 000, 000 while working on an 18 storey tower and 11 storey block of luxury homes, with a build cost budget of over £250m. Specialist trade contracts include; enabling works, piling, concrete frame, waterproofing, roofing, M&E, brickwork & blockwork, scaffolding, SFS drylining & screed, façade, glazing, carpentry & joinery, decorating, landscaping and balconies.
I completed a MSc project portfolio for hotel projects in Dubai which involved presenting a tailored business case in procurement, cost planning and market research to DAMAC properties, while working alongside Nabih E. Azzam & Partners. This provided exposure to several mixed use developments in Dubai while refining my skills in providing critical advice for innovative building design to suit the Dubai housing and hospitality markets.
