Managing procurement activities, policies and procedures and carrying on strategies for the assigned category. Good Expertise in Raw Materials & Packaging.
1. Leading the efforts towards timely processing of proponent requests, it’s conversion to orders/agreements and delivery in a timely manner.
2. Establishing and leading cross-functional teams to develop the procurement category strategies in alignment with the procurement strategies and business objectives.
3. Managing the development, implementation and delivery of the category strategies including sourcing activities which generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets through insight and analysis of category and sub categories areas.
4. Conducting analysis of procurement spends and supply base to establish suppliers per Procurement category and sub category.
5. Conducting analysis of supply markets to identify potential suppliers, market trends and savings opportunities to the respective category in coordination with market intelligence and supplier relationship teams.
6. Preparation of pre bid documents in conjunction with key user departments
7. Negotiate spot/contractual agreements with suppliers to ensure that goods or service, quality, added value, total cost, security of supply and the deployment of the supplier’s capabilities in innovation are secured.
8. Managing and develop supplier relationships, for the respective category and sub categories, using leading practice procurement tools (e.g. supplier performance reviews) to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality; keep internal proponent informed and involved in on-going supplier management and work proactively with supplier relationship management team to deliver objectives.
9. Coordinating the implementation of new systems and procedures within the procurement organization; review unusual circumstances and problems and recommend resolutions.
10. Providing functional expertise to purchasing operations and to procurement personnel; coach new employees to have in depth knowledge of purchasing systems/procedures, key suppliers, and products and services.
11. Developing appropriate sourcing strategies.
12. Leading major procurement actions which require a high level of purchasing expertise.
13. Performing any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/ manager.
