At present I'm doing a production scheduling problem in a floor tile company in sri lanka. The production scheduling is done to reduce the energy consumption of the company. According to our plan the current bill of the company can be reduced by 650, 000 LKR for a month.
I have learned about 6S, Kanban, lean manufacturing, how to reduce bottleneck processing time, First article inspection, goods invert inspection, cellular model of the manufacturing process, inventory controlling, drafting of the drawings using a computer software, ULDE (unit load device equipment - thermal cover, door cover, heat cover) cover manufacturing process, Cargo net manufacturing process using yarn,
I have been there as a production engineer for 3 months.I have designed and fabricated a new machine for that company.It was a floor tile splitting device.Using that machine the defect rate of those floor tile have reduced from 50%to 5%.Also I have gained good knowledge about the roofing tile manufacturing process, 5S, lean manufacturing, etc
