2) Main areas of the responsibilities were: -

a) Analysis of the credit portfolio of the bank in terms of its nature, concentration, coverage, earnings, ageing and recovery.
b) Analysis of write-off, restructuring and rescheduling cases keeping in view their collateral available for recourse, provisioning and legal implications.
c) Analysis of the proposals for approval of President in following cases:

i) Approval of Credit Sanction Advice
ii) Approval of Proposal for Filing the Recovery Suit in Courts.
iii) Approval for Restructuring and Rescheduling of Bad Debts.
iv) Approval for Write-off of Unrecoverable Debts.

d) The analysis of the proposal for delegation of authority/constitution of Credit Committee for Branch Credit Committee and Regional Credit Committee.
e) Monitoring the implementation / rectification of audit reports (Internal Audits/External Audits/SBP’s Audits) of the bank.
f) Assisted the Credit Division in formulation of Credit Policy of our bank.

Basic Jobs Included:

1) Credit Department:

a) Appraisal and processing of Credit Line Proposals for onward submission to the Branch Credit Committee / Head Office Credit Committee / Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
a) Analysis of the Financial Statements, preparation of spreadsheets and cash flows.
b) Annual / Semi Annual review of all Credit Limits to evaluate the risk associated with the Finances based on the sound lending policies of the Bank and according to the rules & regulations lay down by the State Bank of Pakistan.
c) An assessment of competence and quality of borrower's management, the general economic and competitive environment of the borrower's industry and any other pertinent factors that effect the client's ability to repay the facility.
d) Reviews of Periodic Statements of Finances for carrying out effective follow up and control.
e) Follow-up and rectification of irregularities relating to Credit Operations pointed out from time to time in internal, external or SBP's Audit Reports.
f) Visiting the credit customers and properties offered as Security to ensure booking of good loans and low frequency of bad debt occurrence.
g) Credit File Maintenance and to ensure that all the necessary information is contained therein to facilitate monitoring of the Finances.
h) To arrange Registration of General Power of Attorneys and Mortgage Deeds in favor of the Bank for the properties' offered/held as security.
i) To arrange Registration of Charges with Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, where security is offered by Corporate Customers.
j) Obtaining of Credit Reports from Credit Information Bureau, State Bank of Pakistan and all other banks/DFIs in relevant city.
k) Periodical Reporting of Credit relevant to Credit Division Head Office and State Bank of Pakistan.

2) Imports Department:

a) Processing of Applications for Import LCs.
b) To arrange approval for establishment of LCs from International Division of Head Office.
c) Obtaining / Computation of Test Keys for LCs messages.
d) Maintenance of Import Files, Register for LC Issue, LC Liability, and PADs.
e) Scrutiny of import documents.
f) All correspondence with Foreign Correspondent Banks.
g) Maintenance of Due Date Diary for Acceptances and adjustment of PADs.
h) Periodical Reporting of Import LCs to International/Credit Divisions of Head Office, Manager Treasury and to State Bank of Pakistan.

3) Exports Documents:

a) Checking Documents under Export LCs and their dispatch to Foreign Banks.
b) Follow-up of Export LCs negotiated by Bank.
c) Maintenance and Balancing of FBPs Ledgers.
d) Preparation and Submission of returns to International and Credit Divisions of Head Office & State Bank of Pakistan.
e) Maintenance of Due Date Diary and lodging of claims with Reimbursing Banks.
f) Processing, Preparation and Submission of Export Refinance Cases to State Bank of Pakistan.
g) Maintenance of Due Date Diary for repayment of Demand Loans of State Bank of Pakistan.
h) Periodical Reporting of Export LCs to International/Credit Divisions of Head Office, Manager Treasury and to State Bank of Pakistan.
