To manage and supervise fellow nurse under team in the homecare and hospital care setting. To interact and care for the patients in addition to maintaining the delivery of quality nursing care to our patients. To help in the implementation of company’s and client’s house rules and regulations at the same time covering all components of the current medical and nursing practice.
Duties
• Helps my immediate supervisor in directing and preparing work schedules of the nurses under my supervision and team, ensuring my nursing unit is running smoothly
• Helps in the evaluation of nurses and recommends potential nurses for promotion.
• Resolve certain issues concerning nurse’s performances, complaints from clients and refer to immediate supervisor as deem necessary.
• Performs both basic and critical nursing functions directly to respective patients(s).
• Coordinate with my supervisor, patients attending physician and relatives in cases of emergencies.
• Responsible for new staffs orientation and supervision.
• Communicates with family members, informing them the medical procedures to be done if any and its attending physician’s specific instructions.
• Participating in nursing team meetings, continuous educations and seminars offered inside and outside the institution
• Reports directly to my head nurse of any concerns.
Required to work rotational shifts as part of a multi disciplinary healthcare team that is
Delivering general medical and surgical services to patients. Providing emergency screening & advice to patients, appropriate assessment; planning; implementation & evaluation of care needed.
Duties
• Meeting a patient’s nursing care needs.
• Preparing sterile trolleys & medical equipment for any special procedures.
• Participating in nursing team meetings, continuous educations and seminars offered.
• Assisting with the care of patients with chronic illness, i.e. asthma.
• Assessing clients emotional, psychosocial, physical and spiritual needs.
• Communicating professionally and warmly with a patient’s visitors and family ensuring understanding on both sides.
• Ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered to patients.
• Maintaining the dignity and privacy of all patients and respecting their right to confidentiality ensuring gender sensitivity as a cultural practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Complying with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines of the kingdom.
• Ensuring specimens are correctly labeled, packaged and recorded prior to collection and submission to the concerned department.
• Supporting any new staff members during their induction & with new skill acquisition including other pertinent roles demanded by the management.
• Admitting patients accordingly and endorsing them upon admission to concerned department.
Operating Room Staff Nurse
Duties
• Meeting a patient’s nursing care needs.
• Confirming identity of patient for surgical procedure based on verbal affirmation by the patient in comparison with the ID band and worksheet endorsed.
• Orienting patient with the physical set up of the department and ensuring safety all thru out the procedure with application of bed belts and side rails before and after every procedure.
• Assisting patient to and from the surgical table.
• Assisting in preparation and administration of the anesthetic drugs, proper surgical procedure and after care of every surgery.
• Ensuring medicines are appropriately received, labeled, stored, and up-to-date and locked in a double-locked cabinet as required by the CBAHI of Saudi Arabia.
• Maintaining surgical aseptic area clean and neat and free of infections or at least at its minimum level.
• Maintaining the dignity and privacy of all patients and respecting their right to confidentiality ensuring gender sensitivity as a cultural practice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Ensuring correct surgical counts are done before and after every procedure.
• Ensuring specimens are correctly labeled, packaged and recorded.
• Updating nurse’s notes with proper procedures, date, time and site of operation with specification on details.
• Administering medications needed as prescribed and advised by the Anesthesiologist and attending physician of the patient, before, during and after the procedure.
• Complying with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines of the kingdom.
• Attending Seminars, continuous education and seminars of the institution and the department to update knowledge on the latest surgical updates.
• Meeting a patient’s nursing care needs.
