Initial design and pricing of Television Broadcast Production systems to clients' requirements.
Customers ranging from small independent companies to state national and international broadcasters.

The key skill of this role is to interpret the customer's requirements and match their budget
with the best services and systems available to produce a viable working broadcast system.
The systems range from simple small news gathering systems, through large sports event
outside broadcast production systems, to complete studio complex design and implementation. Mostly working with Central African, North African and Middle Eastern clients. Project values range from £500K to £30M.

End user customers include UEFA, BBC, Sky, ITN, Canadian TV, Foxtel, MTV, The Disney Channel, Sony Broadcast and Virgin Media.
With such high value prototype products, problem solving, budget constraints and deadlines were of the highest importance. For example, I averted critical engineering design errors ensuring that the Formula One Grand Prix broadcast vehicle was completed on time and successfully dispatched for transmission.

IT Contracts Consultant à Transco PLC

Ofgem ordered Transco to remove all non-core business activities from the Lattice Group to allow free and fair competition by the end of 2002. “Connections” was the first department chosen to become a separate company.

Key Duties
• Identifying all Connections', IT systems, services and processes.
• Liaising with internal and external IT providers, documenting re-negotiating and
managing the supply chain.
• Assemble and manage a team of internal staff to analyse and re-document systems,
services and processes specifically for Connections.
• Document and report my team's findings to the project board for decision.
• Renegotiate all internal and external IT services contracts.
• Write and agree the service level agreement (SLA) between Connections and providers.
• Prepare heads of agreement and contracts for signature.
This work was successfully completed, two months before schedule in October 2002. I
continued to work with Transco IT services department to formulate new terms of engagement for further departments separating. I also developed a new business capture process and assist departments to become commercially aware and understand their new roles and service provider.

Service Delivery & Commercial Manager à Sema Group (UK) Limited

Following my time with the Highland Health Board as IT Services Manager, I was chosen by SEMA to write and negotiate the Service Level Agreement with the Scottish Office for the NHS in Scotland. As a member of the contract transition team and prior to contract commencement in April 1999, Sema Group employed me to: -

• Redefine the NHSiS operational requirement (OR) for all IT systems, services and
processes.
• Document and report contract discrepancies to the transition team and Sema Group legal department.
• Negotiate discrepancies and agree changes to the OR with the Scottish Office.
• Design the IT service and write the SLA within the bounds of the OR and contract, between the Scottish Office and Sema Group.
From April 1999, Sema Group employed me as the Service Delivery and Commercial Manager for the contract with NHSiS reporting to Sema Group Board.

Key Duties
• Monthly reporting to the Scottish Office for: -
• Compliance with data governance
• SLA KPIs
• Presentation of Invoice
• Manage administration, accounts and helpdesk teams.
• Plan and manage day to day contract resources.
• Liaise with management team
• Escalate interventions in accordance with SLA
• Authorise supplier payments (delegated authority £250K signing authority £50K).
• Report monthly profit and loss to Sema Group Board of Directors.
• Liaise with Scottish Office to discuss service improvements and plan service changes.
