Electrical maintenance and automation engineering

Shift Electrical Engineer, Nile Sugar factory, June 2016 - Present

Responsibilities:
=============
• Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations.
• Maintenance of Medium voltage distribution (12 KV SIMOPRIME switchgear) with its protection devices.
• Maintenance of low voltage (LV) Transformers, LV distribution panels (MDBs) and its power factor correction panels.
• Maintenance of Motor control centers (MCCs).
• Troubleshooting Siemens PLC S7-300 and S7-400.
• Testing & modifying PLC programs according to machines capabilities and production demands.
• Installation of fresh electrical components and replacement recommendation for old or faulty electrical components.
• Installation and commissioning of new variable frequency converters.
• Installation and commissioning of new Simocode devices and softstarters.
• Spare parts management.

Achievements:
===========
• Solved a 7 years lasted problem of RO station SCADA (the operator wasn’t able to monitor the station, it was manually monitored)
• Solved a 4 years lasted problem of centrifuge machine PLC profibus communication with DCS.
• Increased reliability of profibus networks (reached zero failure from multiple failures every year).
• Upgraded 8 obsolete Simovert masterdrive of critical extraction tower with new sinamics drives (reconfigured PLC, VFDs programming and commissioning).
• Developed a windows application (C#) to follow up maintenance works, season problems and condition of motors bearings.

- WinCC 7.4 (ES, server and clients configuration)
- WinCC Advanced V14
- InduSoft Web studio 8.0
• Design HMI programs using WinCC Flexible.
• Commissioning and programming Siemens Variable frequency drives (Micromaster & Sinamics), Softstarter and Simocode devices.
• Programming siemens protection devices (SIPROTIC) for transformers and feeders protection.
• OPC server/client communication.
• Modbus RTU and TCP/IP communication.
• Profibus and Profinet communication.
• Programming language: C# (familiar with database programming).
• Electrical AutoCAD
• Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
