Education

Master's degree, (MSc) Wireless and Microwave Communication Engineering
  • at Cardiff University
  • September 2014

Modules Studied Include: Software tools and Simulation, Advanced C o Communications Systems, High Frequency Electronic Materials, HF & RF Engineering, Non-Linear RF Design and Concepts, Research Study, RF C Circuit Design and CAD, Management in Industry, Fundamentals of micro a and nanotechnology, Optoelectronics, Advanced CAD, Fabrication and Test. Dissertation Title: Wireless mesh network for advanced metering infrastructure [AMI] In this project the attention was on the investigation and evaluation of a proposed routing protocol for use in modern smart metering system, which employs mesh networking to allow many devices to share a single access-point. The protocol is optimised for deployment in devices with extremely limited hardware capabilities (little more than a kilo-byte of ROM and a few hundred bytes of RAM), and contains a novel implementation of source-routing.

Bachelor's degree, (BEng) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • at South Wales University (University of Glamorgan)
  • June 2012

1st Class Honours Awarded The Institution of Engineering and Technology IET membership. Star student 2012 Modules Studied Include: Year One :Introduction to ‘C’ programming & Embedded Systems,Personal Skills, Engineering Applications, Analogue &Digital Electronics 1, Engineering Health, Safety and Welfare, , Electrical & E Electronic Principles, Mathematics for Engineers, Year Two: Configuration Programming of Embedded Systems, Business & Finance for Engineers, Group Project, Analogue & Digital Electronics 2, Electrical Principles Methods & Simulation,Control & Instrumentation, Power &Machines Further Mathematics for Electrical and Mechatronic Engineers, Signals and Digital Communications, Year Three: Electronics Design, Control System Design, Power Electronics and Drives, Telecommunication & Mobile Wireless Systems. Projects Titles: * Security System for use within buildings (2nd year project) In this project a security system was designed to protect homes and businesses. It contains electronic sensors, an alarm system that informs the owner of any unauthorised entry to the property or unauthorised movement within the secure area. * Fully functional Battery Management Architecture (BMS) for Hybrid/Electrical Vehicles (3RD year project). In this project a system was designed to prove to be comparatively more cost effective and that also work intuitively with fewer limitations. In essence, a system that helps the end user monitor the state of a (vehicle) battery through an LCD display that can be easily read and LEDs that indicates the state. Therefore the system is not exclusive on electrical vehicle but it can be used in any environment that batteries needed to be monitored. Furthermore, the system is systematically control the safe operation of both charge and discharging by measuring how much energy is put into it during charging and how much energy is drained from it when it is in used by making a safe cut off point in both stages. The control typically manages the charging voltage and current according to the battery conditions voltage.
