Major duties included: • Conduct accurate, adequate and effective Operational & Financial Audit and ensure the Head of the Department is alert to the significant risks that might affect objectives, operations or resources.
• Keep the Head of Internal Audit informed of the results of the audit and risk associated with Bank Operations and Financial activities and services.
• Assists Head of Internal Audit in preparing a comprehensive, long-range Audit Plan covering all the Operational and Financial activities of the Bank, prioritizing the audit assignments based on a risk assessment, and scheduling of follow-up activities, in an effective and efficient manner.
• Co-ordinates with the Head of Internal Audit Department in preparing staffing plans and financial budgets of, Finance Audit, including the number of auditors and the knowledge, skills, and disciplines required to achieve the approved plan.
• Assists Head of Internal Audit in developing and implementing a risk based audit strategy and objectives.
• Surveys functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of control to achieve the objectives of the audit assignment.
• Plans the scope of the audit and prepares an Audit work program.
• Assists the Auditors in the planning of individual audit assignments, to conduct the audit efficiently and to address the major risks of the auditable activity.
• Makes oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the audit, discussing observations and recommending corrective action to improve operations.
• Reviews and edits the Draft Report.
• Attend opening and closing conferences along with the Head of Internal Audit.
• Appraises the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve the conditions.
• Assists in the implementation of the department Quality Assurance Program to ensure that the department is functioning at a high level of efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintains positive and professional relationships with auditee to complete audit works & objectives effectively and efficiently.
• Provides input for the revision of audit programs/review approach to achieve specific objectives in more effective/efficient manner.
• Participates in the review of user related procedure/policies for improvement and sign off.
• Reviews the analysis of results arising from assignment planning, testing performed, and identifying cause of systems failures, potential affects and action necessary to remedy situations. Undertakes analysis of activities identifying risks exposures and mitigating factors, if any. Ensures that audit findings are presented in a positive and constructive form.
