• Responsibility for leading, building and developing the global Separation business unit CI &
Technology department (80 employees, 4 direct report).
• Leading the industrialization of global new product launch and technology transfer, in close
cooperation with SCM, R&D, PM and operation team.
• Responsible for the optimization of the industrial footprint for new acquisitions on top of global
efficiency improvement, automation level, the digitalization/industrial 4.0 and OPEX.
• Responsibility for developing and executing sustainability concepts in the areas of energy use,
resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste disposal and transport along the
complete manufacturing value stream chain and product life cycle
• Leading technology selection for new production lines and/or machine extensions.
• Responsibility for the standardization of manufacturing technologies within the global
manufacturing network.
• Leading and sponsoring maintenance/enabler projects for method development, process
documentation, and global development of production technology (Ex_Engineering)
• Represent operations management in strategic planning with R&D and marketing.
• Managing and supporting the local CI&T teams to priorities, coordinate the lean activities and
projects within the business unit
Responsibilities:
•Creating/managing projects for reducing manufacturing costs, increasing manufacturing capacity and improving product quality using continuous improvement process (CIP) and Operational Excellence tools (i.e. golden batch, Poka Yoke, PDCA, DMAIC, VSM, Kaizen, OEE and 5S).
•Supervising/supporting of manufacturing process-transfer to another plants (Europe, Asia, and USA).
•Supervising and implementation of scale-up processes for new products/processes from lab procedures to high volume manufacturing, using PHA, MOC and TTP.
•Cross-functional responsibilities with other departments (i.e. PLM, Production, SHE, R&D, QM and Business Management) in inland and international to achieve business platform objectives.
•Controlling of all chemical aspects in production process (approx. 200 different products) at the site to ensure the SHE-compliant, Quality oriented and efficient delivery of products.
•Define re-work strategies for slow moving inventory (SMOG) and off-spec material.
•Support and assistance in certification and audits: Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental
Management (ISO 14001) and Energy Management (ISO 50001).
•Participation in the annual budget preparation (volume, costs and investments).
•Technical, economic and disciplinary responsibility for operation- and product support laboratory (12 employees). (Till 2014)

•Research in the field of Polymer-Hybrid-systems.
•Radical- anionic- and emulsion polymerisation.
•Polymer analysis (NMR, GPC, XRD, TEM and UV/VIS Spectroscopy).
•Thermal Analysis Techniques (microcalorimetry (ITC), DSC and TGA).
•Supervising Diploma.
•Analyze air samples: using GC, flame photometric detector and a mass selective detector.
•Air monitoring: using hydrazine detection systems and FTIR Spectrometer.
•Investigation of the physical and chemical properties of Polymers in Polymer-Hybrid-Systems: amphiphilic copolymers onto various inorganic nanoparticles surfaces (SiO2, Al2O3, CeO2, ZnO, ZrO2, TiO2, Fe3O4) by implementation of different polymerization techniques and physical-chemical methods: “Thermal Analyses Technique (ITC, DSC and TGA), TEM, 31P-MAS-NMR and 17O-MAS-NMR. •Development of TATP- and VOC- sensors for detection of high explosives triacetone triperoxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at ppm level using Spectroscopic and thermodynamic methods (fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy, thermal analysis techniques (ITC, DSC)). •Study the interactions in protein-polymer hybrid systems: -cBSA-PEO3400-cBSA dimer with plasmid DNA.
•Synthesis of Polybutadiene (BR) by radical polymerization in solution. •Development of a computer-controlled laboratory reaction calorimeter (RC1). •Simulations of the reaction conditions using “Predici” software. •Using analytical methods: HPLC, GPC, GC, TEM, MALDI-TOF, IR and NMR Spectroscopy.
