As the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Ericsson, I focus on fostering a strong safety culture and a healthy work environment. I develop strategic EHS programs that enhance productivity and safety across the GCC and Pakistan, covering operations, projects, data centres, supply chains, offices, and warehouses, all aimed at achieving zero accidents.
I collaborate with various telecom operators, including Batelco, Zain, Vodafone, Omantel, Ooredoo, Du, Etisalat, Mobilink, and CM Pak, to ensure that their EHS requirements are effectively integrated into our projects.
At Ericsson, we use advanced technologies such as AI, remote inspection, automation, and geofencing to improve safety management. This allows us to proactively mitigate risks, respond to incidents, and enhance compliance.
I lead a team focused on managing EHS risks, fostering a safety culture, enhancing well-being, protecting the environment, and promoting continuous improvement.

•• Achievements and Accomplishments:
•Created and deployed the Remote EHS Pre-Work Inspection Program, enhancing productivity, reducing driving hours, fatigue, and CO2 / GHG emissions, lowering operational costs, and supporting the organization's goal of achieving zero accidents.
•Created and deployed the Driver and Vehicle Safety Program, which encompassed Intelligent In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS), journey management, training, and behaviour monitoring. This initiative led to a significant decrease in driving-related accidents and a reduction in both direct and indirect costs.
•Established and executed the Fall Protection and Lifting Programs per OSHA standards, incorporating a training matrix, coaching, and monitoring. This initiative achieved zero injuries related to work at height and lifting activities.

•• Work experience and responsibilities:
•Develop and implement strategic EHS, Sustainability, and Health & Wellness programs regionally, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and evaluating effectiveness.
•Develop and implement a mental health and stress management program in partnership with HR, providing employees with access to workshops, coaching, and tools to manage stress and prevent burnout.
•Create and disseminate safety standards, safe working methods, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures.
•Led the implementation of WELL / Green Building Standard features in partnership with the facility management team, resulting in improved indoor air quality, natural lighting, and acoustic comfort for office occupants.
•Set EHS targets and KPIs for the stakeholders. Monitor and report EHS performance and targets to the leadership team.

I managed the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) system for manufacturing facilities, warehouses, offices, and new projects. I reported directly to the Plant Manager and the Regional Safety Manager while overseeing a team of four safety officers.

Additionally, I served as the Safety Pillar lead and was an active member of the Quality Assurance (QA) and E&T Pillar.

•• Achievements and Accomplishments:
• Developed and implemented a comprehensive Machine Safety Program that includes machine guarding, safety maps, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, training sessions, and periodic inspections. This initiative led to an 85% decrease in injuries compared to the previous year.
• Implemented a Behavior Safety Program, which includes a Behavior Observation System, achieving a 90% adherence rate to personal protective equipment (PPE) compared to the previous year.
• Implemented a Hazard Identification Program that includes training, coaching, and monitoring, resulting in a 75% increase in risk observation reporting compared to the previous year.

P&G is a multinational FMCG company. I managed the EHS systems for the manufacturing facilities, warehouses, offices, and new projects in both the Dammam and Dubai plants. I reported to the HSE manager, and two safety officers reported to me.

•• Achievements and Accomplishments:

• Developed clear and concise SOPs with visual aids that address machine safety, chemical management, fire protection, and emergency preparedness, resulting in an 80% compliance rate with safe work procedures.
• Designed and implemented the Ergonomic Safety Program, which included ergonomic assessments, workstation and equipment redesign, and training. This initiative led to the redesign of five work processes, resulting in increased productivity, reduced work-related musculoskeletal disorders, decreased fatigue, and fewer health-related issues.
• Launched the Waste, Water, and Energy Reduction Program, which included utility mapping, 5S, the implementation of the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), and staff training. This program resulted in a 70% reduction in waste sent to landfills, a 25% decrease in water usage, and a 15% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous year.
