Responsibilities:

▪ Monitoring & Traffic Management by pulling everyday traffic stats & providing the information to Traffic Engineering team to Verify & re-route the traffic if any over utilization of is observed to load balance the transport circuits like DS3, OC3, OC12 & OC48 circuits.
Troubleshooting:
▪ Configuration and installation of network devices like routers, switches & other transport devices.
▪ Troubleshooting & configuring OSPF issues if not resolved then escalate to next level
▪ Troubleshooting BGP Peers and BGP states and work with peering partners Level 3 & XO Communication accordingly if the issue is till Tier-2, else escalate to Tier-3 IP NOC to resolve the issue
▪ Troubleshooting core management routers Cisco 2610 series, 2509, 7507 & Cisco 7206VXR
▪ Troubleshooting of High capacity SONET transport, Ethernet Transport, ATM trunks and Backhaul Circuits
▪ Troubleshooting High capacity circuits connected to National-core transport linking IP Backbone circuits & devices like Fuji 4100, 4500 & 9500 ADM's, Cisco ONS 15454 & BTI 7000 & 7060 (MUX)

▪ Communicate and document the root cause analysis of incidents and escalated issues
▪ Creation of tickets based on CRM for SA (Service affecting) and NSA (Non-service affecting) issues and working on it with severity and SLA defined.
▪ Opening Bridges for high level severity issue with NOC Managers, Production Engineering Team and NOC Team to isolate & fix the issue if not engaging Vendors like Cisco & Juniper TAC.
▪ Escalate issue to higher level as defined in Global capacity Process if issue is not resolved & also Vendor like Cisco, Adtran, Samsung are involved for support.
▪ Preparing weekly/Monthly reports for observations to meet the committed SLA.
▪ Maintenance tasks such as new Hardware turn-up and/or replacement, software up-gradation, configuration changes, intrusive troubleshooting and loop testing with ILECs, Partners and Transmission Techs.
▪ Co-ordination with OEMs Samsung, Nokia, Adtran, Fujitsu and Cisco for troubleshooting and RMAs.
▪ Find RFO and perform RCA for different outages and issues.
▪ Coordination with Major Telecom Service Providers in US such as AT&T, Verizon, Centaury Link, EarthLink, Speakeasy, Hughes Telecom etc.
