The aim of this project is to establish an IP network capable of making VoIP. Asterisk server is the core part of this network, an open source framework for building communication applications. It turns an ordinary computer into a communication server. Asterisk powers IP PBX systems, VoIP gateways, conference servers and other custom solutions. The main objectives of this project are:- • To configure soft switch (asterisk). • Implementation of an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) on asterisk platform. • Establishment of a call between two asterisk servers. • Establishment of call between asterisk server and PSTN. • To implement the billing system for the check and balance record of incoming and outgoing calls. • To provide the value added services like call forwarding, call transfer, call waiting, call recording and music on hold.
