Private instruction and schedule coordination for family of students whose classes were 100% online. Primary classes were math and science for PreK to 8th grade and also to fill in for the humanities teacher as needed.
Created lessons to clarify understanding and provide hands on activities. Supplemental enrichment activities.
Teach all core subjects to 5th grade students - ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Qatar History

Homeroom Teacher for 5th grade boys.
• Create lesson plans and teach Canadian Curriculum - Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, ART.
• Teach participation and good student habits for low performing students. Used strategies such as “Popcorn”, reward systems, and nonverbal communication to encourage participation. Example: A student would be called upon to stand and give an answer. If they did not know, they call on another student to help. That student also stands. This continues until they call on a student that can correctly answer the question. The first student then repeats the answer.
• Work with grade-level peers to deliver a consistent expectation of student performance. Active participant in a weekly 5th grade teacher meeting. Example: Worked with peer teachers to establish a consistent interpretation of the rubric for the 5th grade School Wide Write assignment.
• Develop and teach standards for behavior and communication. Using 9 Rules of Discussion and Language of Courtesy guidelines to generate respect between students and appropriate interaction processes between teachers and students.
• Verbalized standard processes to increase spoken English ability. Example: Students were required to orally state the process of 2, 3, and 4 digit addition, subtraction, and multiplication clearly so that someone could write the process from their description.
• Encourage parental involvelment through group forums, family meetings, emails, and newsletters.
• After-school tutoring of low performing students.
• Hail - PYP university level English instruction; integrated classes for reading, speaking, listening/writing, using Oxford Headway Plus, Special Edition textbook to class sizes ranging from 8 to 40 students.
o Facilitate student participation in lecture and workbook activities using research-based techniques such as realia, skits, and association. Example: Students wrote directions to places in the school on an index card, exchanged cards, then followed the directions to validate comprehension and writing skills.
o Teach accountability, responsibility, and study skills to prepare students rigorous university work.
• Riyadh - Teach ELA, Science, and Math. American preschool ELA curriculum, Pengu, math manipulatives, and self-created interactive PowerPoints via Epson EB Interactive Whiteboard. Example: Students used the Epson to connect the number 4 to: the word four, images of 4 items, and to trace F O U R.
• Riyadh - 2nd grade homeroom teacher responsible for English Language Arts, Science, and Math curriculum using American Common Core Curriculum
• Dammam (Substitute) - 5th grade homeroom teacher, ELA and Social Studies instructor using American Common Core Curriculum.
Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening instructor for adult, female students. Levels were from 1 to 12. I primarily taught levels 2 and above, including primary writing teacher for levels 9 - 12.
School Science Lab Instructor//Developed 5E lesson plans and learning activities from grade level content standards of an American curriculum. Library Management - responsible for the physical environment and administrative processes for the school library. Scheduled library activities to support teacher lesson plans and assisted ESL student’s English language capacity.
• Developed diversified class projects that provided opportunities to integrate content. Example: Pocky Day Solar System - Objective: predict the positions of the planets on 11/11/13 (Korean holiday) and depict the relational positions of the planets in a 3D scale model. Content areas: Art - paper-maché planets made to scale and accurately painted. Math - develop scale for planet size, distance from sun, and speed of orbit, to calculate the future position of planets. Reading - use text features of non-fiction resources such as glossaries, indexes, and captions to discern relevant information. Science - grade level astronomy.
• Used an arsenal of teaching techniques for ESL comprehension. Incorporated organization by color, audio recordings for pronunciation practice, realia, graphic organizers, and other researched based activities to stimulate second language comprehension. Example: After modeling several times, on a weekly basis student pairs were assigned to develop an audio recording of activities for use by classmates to study vocabulary. Students were taught how to develop a plan and script to record as an .mp3 file. Student pairs employed deep language comprehension to successfully complete the assignment.
• Assumed the role of School Librarian in absence of functioning library management. Volunteered to manage, and then teach 4th grade students to maintain, the school’s library for availability to all students. Used Cambridge, School Library Management as a source text and incorporated the learning activities into the 4th grade reading comprehension requirements. Facilitated students through reorganization projects, developing user activities, and public relations initiatives which taught leader and stewardship.
• Sponsor and Mentor of after-school Toastmasters-like student organization.
o Worked with students and faculty in a club-like atmosphere, to teach public speaking acumen
o Developed documents to assist speakers with speech guidelines and requirements and to teach individual roles and responsibilities to create a successful meeting experience.
o Guided and mentored officers for successful administration of the club.
Bachelor of Science degree for Texas Teacher certification in all subjects taught in grades 4-8: Math, English, Science, Social Studies. As noted on my teacher license, supplement in ESL education which is one full time semester in ESL teaching theory and classroom practical experience.
