- Conduct research on Middle East and North Africa country of origin information (COI) and assist in maintaining a local repository of relevant information, guidelines and standards accessible to protection staff in the operation;
- Develop a Position Paper on Livelihoods and Local Integration of Syrian refugees in urban settings;
- Develop a Position Paper on a Private Sponsorship Resettlement Programme, including guidelines and SOPs to be implemented by the Brazilian Government.

- Represented UNHCR in the Race, Ethnicity and Diversity UN Inter-Agency Coordination Group and in the Human Trafficking Working Group meetings;
- Liaised with the Government for the collection of age, sex, and nationality-disaggregated data on asylum claims and refugees in Brazil, and prepared monthly statistics;
- Organized awareness raising activities and advocacy campaigns in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice;
- Drafted protection reports to inform donors, the Government, and UNHCR Regional HUB and HQ;
- Conducted individual case management of protection cases and referrals to assistance and services as appropriate;
- Conducted and supported RSD and protection training activities for national eligibility officials and partners.
- Provided assistance in trainings and other capacity development activities;
- Drafted Memoranda of Understanding between UNHCR and several Governmental institutions;
- Researched and updated various International Protection documents;
- Assisted on the drafting of Protection Reports;
- Monitored and analyzed proposed national legislation and regulations affecting refugees, asylum-seekers and stateless individuals;
- Compiled monthly statistics on asylum claims and refugees in the country;
- Conduct research on subjects related to UNHCR mandate and the population of concern;
- Assisted on individual management of protection cases;
- Researched Country of Origin Information (COI) and prepared documents for the National Committee on Refugees meetings;
- Provided assistance in the identification of eligible refugees for the Solidary Resettlement Program;
- Reviewed and translated RRF's of Colombian refugees in Ecuador seeking resettlement in Brazil;
- Assisted on the management of physical caseloads in coordination with the National Committee on Refugees;
- Dealt with asylum claims based on SGBV incidents as well as gender identity and sexual orientation (LGBTI persons of concern).
