At PLASTIKA THRAKIS PACK S.A., a subsidiary of PLASTIKA THRAKIS PACK S.A.
I was employed as a MANAGER of the Group's factory complex in Ioannina (Plastika Thrakis Pack, Thrace Food Packaging)
The above manufacturing plants, which employ a workforce of 200 people, produce food grade plastic containers and plastic paint containers, which control 60% of the national market and are successfully exported.
My job description included: ➢ Legal representation of the company, with responsibilities for interfacing with public services (Labour Oversight Bureau, Regional Administration, Local Authorities), as well as drawing and managing funds from banks.
➢ Coordination, planning, monitoring and controlling the production of the factory complex.
➢ Human Resource Management, with responsibilities for recruitment, evaluation and liaison with labour unions.
➢ Coordination and monitoring of deliveries to clients, following arrangements and communications with the company sales force.
➢ Responsibility for monitoring supplies, liaison and price negotiation with suppliers and final approval of purchases.
➢ Monitoring the expenditures of the plants and responsibility for payments reaching 30 million Euros p.a.
➢ Coordination of storage and managing of production output totalling 7, 000 ready pallet loads.
➢ Oversight, monitoring and optimisation of the operations for the above plants.
➢ Communications with major clients (MEVGAL, TYRAS, DODONE, VIVARTIA, NESTLE, VITEX, FRIESLAND etc.) and problem-solving with regard to quality, delivery etc., involving onsite visits to their corporate headquarters as required.
➢ Reception and coordination of inspection groups for the above clients in the annual quality inspections that were conducted in our facilities.
➢ Membership of the Group's Task Force for Investment and Development Projects.
➢ Membership of the Task Force for improvement, product development and equipment acquisitions.
➢ Membership of the Task Force for costing, sale pricing and drafting of the annual production and sales budget.
➢ Authorship of the monthly performance report submitted to the company Chair.
➢ Liaison and communications with the Group's plants outside Greece (Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey)
➢ Supervision of construction of the company's new manufacturing plant (6, 000 m2) in Ioannina in 2004.
➢ Implementation of the production monitoring and optimisation system in partnership with BENDOR EXEM.
➢ Responsibility for staff training programmes in partnership with training institutes (IVEPE, BENDOR EXEM, XINI)
➢ Responsibility for coordination of the ISO (2003) and HACCP (2007) systems.
➢ Responsibility for coordination of the barcode system implementation (2009)
➢ Responsibility for the coordination of the Research Potential Development Programme 01ΕΔ529-2001 Operations Optimisation for Thermoplastic Machinery in partnership with the University of Ioannina (Physics Department, University of Ioannina, under the supervision of Professor G. Floudas)
➢ Responsibility for the use and application by our company of the Electronic Microscopy Unit Interdepartmental Instrumentation for Horizontal Projects of the University of Ioannina, which was funded by the National Strategic Reference Framework 2008-2013, with a view to testing malfunction and product certification (Project Supervisor: Associate Professor A. Avgeropoulos, Department of Materials Science, University of Ioannina) . Direct submission of a formal letter of interest and immediate use of the unit with a view to increasing industrial - academic partnerships.
➢ Responsibility for the coordination of projects in partnership with the Department of Materials Science of the University of Ioannina.
